In Disco Elysium I was expecting there to be some kind of "addiction mechanic" that would add a long-term downside to taking drugs, and was surprised by not only the absence of any such mechanic but also that the benefits of drugs greatly outweighed the cost. Anyways fast forward to the late game and I was downing three bottles of pyrholidon and smoking an entire pack of cigarettes before attempting any check, and the was only then I realized there was in fact an addiction mechanic

Oh yeah, I definitely didn't keep up with it, even though I was excited whenever there was a new game announced. Also yeah, THQ has had so many ups and downs over the years, and no one had any idea what was going to happen to those IPs.

The plan is to make the moves to beat Tears of the Kingdom (I haven't even beaten the first dungeon lmao). And then I'm either gonna sink my teeth into Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader or Starfield. I definitely have time for a longer game at the moment.

I'll keep that in mind as I play them, especially 3. I'm excited to see that they're even making a new one

This honestly might make me go back to 2 and restart it and beat it. Then play 3 and Genesis. I love Darksiders, but played so little of it lmao

That being said! I watched Mortismal Gaming's review after 100% of Starfield last night and it was refreshing hearing someone talk about it more positively. And that made my brain go brrrrrr.

Look, I know I own Starfield on Xbox, but if the rumors are true, why don't I just wait to play it until it's on PS5? Hmmmm.

That's a really fair point! I know I've got to work on that feeling, though, because I feel like I only beat long games like this when I'm antsy. That usually leads to me going, "Ugh, how much longer?" lol

But I get you, the game will always be there if I want to do more side stuff.

I think I'm about to pass the 100 hour mark on Tears of the Kingdom (and some of that is from a previous playthrough I restarted), but I'm starting to wonder exactly when I should wrap this game up. I'm having a ton of fun, but I also know I'm getting antsy to start something else.

Also needs to be said that this has absolutely nothing to do with Bethesda's design being outdated??? Which like, I don't completely agree with. I do think the constancy of loading screens is detrimental. However, I just played Oblivion and LOVED it. Bethesda's design has nothing to do with it.

It's always been the game when I'm looking at my backlog (hate the term, but it's shorter to say it) that I go, "Man, I really should play that!" Every time I'm looking for a new game to play, it's right there. And I'll inevitably boot it up, play for a little and go, "Eh."
