This is a very good deal for Soderblom considering his inconsistent play over the past 2-3 seasons. He looked good at times this past year (still inconsistent), so best case scenario is 1B workload in tandem with Knight but could end up as a pure backup. #NHL #Blackhawks

This is a great deal for the team. We do think our projection model struggled with comps for Tsyplakov, likely because of small sample.

Haven’t updated the sheet with the AAV until we see the exact $ (~5.1M after deferrals), but Jackson Blake has signed an extension with the Carolina Hurricanes. 8yrs, 45M, $5.625M AAV before deferrals. Appears very team friendly. #NHL #RaiseUp

Kaapo Kakko and the Seattle Kraken have agreed to a new deal. The solid middle six winger avoids arbitration and will try to earn a bigger role in the lineup. #NHL #SEAKraken

Villardi has been a good acquisition for the Winnipeg Jets, providing shooting ability and solid play at both ends of the ice (and on PP). His new deal AAV comes in above projection, but reasonable considering the term. #NHL #GoJetsGo

Vejmelka was much older and was signing his deal with upcoming UFA status. Both factors eliminate him from being a contractual comp.

Dostal signs a new deal with the Anaheim Ducks for an extra year and about $1.3M above projection. Extra year = bigger AAV, and while comps didn’t point to a deal this big, ANA’s abundance of cap space helps this deal make a little more sense. #NHL #FlyTogether
