As I digested the days that followed I realized that the most important images I could share are ones that are less often published. This was the first time I ever participated in any form of public protest. It was all any of us could do.

I started taking pictures, no doubt trained by every image I had ever seen of moments like this.

15 years...and nothing has changed. A formative moment in the development of my personal politics. I dug up my photos from that time as they feel pretty damn relevant today.

Held the 6 year old in my arms this morning - devastated that the field trip she's been looking forward to for weeks has been cancelled because it's not safe for her to breathe the air outside while I contemplate the world she will inherit.
