Last night we had the treat of a dark sky observatory in Cypress Hills interprovincial park, to marvel at neighbouring galaxies. One of the students working at this observatory turned out to be from Ottawa. 🇨🇦

We did go to Winnipeg on the way there. Going to Riding Mountain National Park and then going back to Winnipeg for Canadian Museum of Human Rights tomorrow

According to man running the gas pump in Mankota, Saskatchewan, the number of Canadians driving through has doubled this year, exploring Canada (elbows up!). Husband signed his guest book. Leaving SK now and heading to Manitoba 🇨🇦

If I stopped loving Canada because there are a handful of nasty people, I’d sink into depression. No, in all of what’s happened in the past four years, I did not lose hope. On the contrary, I marvelled that there are so many wonderful people out there. 🇨🇦❤️

Just when you think it can’t get any more stunning, from pristine lakes, to Canadian Shield, prairie fields, Rocky Mountains, you enter the Okenagan Valley. All along our road trip from Ontario to British Columbia, the border to the USA snaked just south of us, and we sang love songs to Canada. 🇨🇦

We crossed the Alberta prairies today, to the mountains of Waterton Lakes National Park. Must push on. So many fabulous parks. Previously visited Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore. We will visit Kootenay, Glacier, Yoho on our way home. Hopefully, daughter spends a lifetime exploring Canadian wilderness.🇨🇦

Previously rode horses in Banff and hiked in Canmore. Also broke ribs skiing in Banff last winter, which haven’t yet healed, so not getting onto a horse this trip.

Saskatchewan, soaking up the beauty of the prairies

In love with Canada: The drive from Lake Superior to Winnipeg was stunning. The prairies are breathtaking. Daughter and I will have driven more than 1000 km today, from Ontario, through Manitoba, to Saskatchewan, and it has been a feast for the eyes and the soul. 🇨🇦

Why the Canadian adventure? It’s been a difficult year, physical health issues loom, and the beauty of this country is grounding. Made it to Quetico tonight. Tomorrow we leave Ontario, head straight across Manitoba, then on to Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan. Here we come, prairies 🇨🇦

Epic trip continues. Last night on Lake Superior was gorgeous. Dipped our toes in the cool water at Old Woman Bay. Following along the Trans Canada Highway, which extends from St John’s to Victoria, we are at approximately the half way point along the Trans Canada Highway here in Wawa, Ontario.
