Good question! I wrote the software for this as part of the real-time AI detectors and run in onnx runtime (with a 1 TOPS NPU).

Hectors dolphin echolocation clicks. The top image is the original, while the bottom image is the same but after denoising applied.
It's amazing how AI is helping us mitigate masking of echolocation signals in noisy urban habitats. Real-time AI systems mean that passive acosutics can effectively track bats, marine mammals, in nosiy places, like harbors, on cheap computers like Raspberry Pis with Audiomoths.

Have You Heard? AI Buoys Revolutionizing Marine Mammal Monitoring in WhangΔrei Harbor, New Zealand
The pioneering Cetaware system in WhangΔrei Harbor, New Zealand, uses NexSens buoys to passively monitor dolphins and orcas in real-time.
Check out our real-time PAM buoys for marine mammals! All processing is done on board, only transmitting raw audio data of detections and locally storing the rest. Also capable of continued training without needing to bring it back to shore! #bioacoustics

International #sailing #regattas can attract large #spectator #flotillas composed of 100s of #boats!
We found these flotillas can increase #underwaternoise levels by up to 17 dB when race days were compared to non-race days!
