Delighted and honored that my transgressive cosmic gender horror poem was selected for this yearโ€™s HWA Poetry Showcase XII. Thank you, incredible judges: Bryan Thao Worra, @cynthiapelayo.bsky.social, Jewelle Gomez, and @jonathanmaberry.bsky.social; and thank you, editor @cybergodwrites.bsky.social!

Hey, i appreciate that. Thanks for listening and taking the time to edit.

Yep and Iโ€™m saying you couldโ€™ve done that without bringing him up and fawning over his skills. Personally I think you shouldnโ€™t mention him at all without a caveat. Separating the art from the artist is only something we do for certain people and certain crimes. Worth thinking about.

Thatโ€™s cool and all but Polanski r@ped children so I think itโ€™s time we stopped fawning over his filmmaking

Ooh my pet peeve is critics who hate horror but review it anyway

24.07.2025 14:07 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

โ€ฆso the movies can keep getting made and the creatives can be paid well and the theaters can stay open. Long live all the horrors!

24.07.2025 04:16 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I donโ€™t tend to use that phrase too much, but if I do I mean it something in the vicinity of literally, to refer to movies with torture and related confinement and gore as occupying much of the plot.

I want all kinds of horror to exist and for people to enjoy and spend money on itโ€ฆ

24.07.2025 04:14 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

(I disagree with your definition of elevated but my pointโ€™s not about that)

24.07.2025 00:17 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

People who say โ€œtorture prnโ€ are referring disparagingly to a subgenre they donโ€™t enjoy, and every horror fan around them understands what they mean. (If you donโ€™t, letโ€™s talk.) Can people who use that term be horror fans if they like other subgenres? Or are they disqualified for being condescending

24.07.2025 00:16 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

So if thereโ€™s a subgenre I donโ€™t enjoy, I canโ€™t enjoy the rest of them? Thatโ€™s kinda what this amounts to.

23.07.2025 01:43 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0
