This is a great little guide for thinking about your role in the larger movement against tyranny and many of those roles' relationships with each other in RPG style:

The Mystery of Food Deserts They didnโ€™t materialize around the country for no reason. Something happened.

1. The conventional explanation for food desertsโ€”that these places are too poor or too rural to generate enough spending on groceries, or too Black to overcome racist corporate redlining โ€” fail to grapple with a key fact: food deserts didnโ€™t used to exist. My new piece in The Atlantic.

Screen shot of post by @ fortlucia.bsky.social laveled "Female fashion in the 1970s"

A perfectly square sepia-toned image halfway between a photograph and a charcoal drawing of a line of women, five in front, an indeterminate number of body parts behind them. They all appear to be wearing some variation of long-sleeved turtleneck sweaters and high-waisted skirt that are so short their hands hang below them. They are wearing pointy-toed shoes with approximately three-inch heels that are narrow. There is a sort of a suggestion of a streetscape behind them but it is all overexposed and melty.

A detailed knowledge of fashion history has always been good for precisely dating artworks and identifying forgeries and misidentifications.

It is also good for spotting 100% AI-generated fakerino nonsense like this.

Letโ€™s look at why this image is blatant AI nonsense.
