It came about when the AMA got rightfully grumpy about Chiropractors asserting that they practice "chiropractic medicine." When legally pressed, Chiropractors just lopped off the word "medicine" without considering the impact on conjugation.

I can conceive of a generative AI trained solely on Public Domain and/or explicitly licensed works being reasonably usable in the same way that stock photo libraries, clip art collections, and similar have been used for decades.
