for the first time since transitioning, i've lost track of how long it's been since i shaved my face (absent the goatee region) because it just hasn't needed done

i guess my mom told my brother and sister-in-law i'm trans, which saves me some time i guess, but does deprive me of an opportunity to go in with my tried-and-true method of "just show up as a woman and hope for the best"

that said she sent via an intermediate that she'd prefer i didn't come to thanksgiving "dolled up," which is fucking rich since the most i've worn around her is mascara and lip gloss

my mother hasn't apologized and i don't think she will, but she is making my favorite pie for thanksgiving for the first time in a few years so i will take it in the spirit it's offered

hit a nerve this morning so intense that i ended up redoing the shot a cm over because i didn't think i could push through the muscle spasms. this one's going to be sooooore

having dinner with my dad again to find out if i'm allowed to go to thanksgiving without going back in the closet or not

yet again i am displeased to report that the self-care people were right and getting a shower before work really does make my day feel better

i don't love the amount of coughing, hacking and sinus-clearing it takes every morning to stop sounding like rfk jr., but i do think it's at least slowly improving

this is my experience. i think hydration makes some difference (i'm notoriously dehydrated all the time) but i just apply lightly escalating pressure until the skin eventually gives and so far it's always worked out
