(2/3) for a "Feed Algorithmics Engineer". As of right now, the best thing you can do to improve your content discovery is just use user-created feeds (there are several floating around that mimic the Discover feed's ability to adapt based off your likes/interests, just not as horribly)

(1/3) Bluesky is directly limited by the limitations of the protocol, e.g. private data. So no, it isn't an "engineering circlejerk" that a small team pours most of their efforts into the protocol. Yes, the Discover feed can (and should) be improved by now, which is why they are hiring
