RIP Donald Shoup one of the most influential urban experts who changed many cities for the better. He certainly changed how I look at parking. His book 'The High Cost of Free Parking' was a game changer.

I was in Sydney in September to run the marathon. I found the city so easy to get around by train and/or walking.

The economic benefits are highly misunderstood by those who should know better. As well, many businesses have no clue how their customers arrive. If they knew, they'd generally love bike lanes.

The sooner and better a business sees future trends, the easier to Piot and the more likely of success. That being said, many don't stand a chance, unless they completely diversify and get lucky.

Kodak is a good example of a company that didn't pivot quickly enough. I always say for businesses, they need to evolve or they will die eventually. Chapters and Best Buy are two examples of businesses that have able to pivot and expand what they offer.
