I drew the original version of this piece in December of ‘23. This drawing, borne out of a feeling that I needed to speak up through my art about the ongoing genocide in #Gaza helped break me out of a period of creative inertia. I revisited it recently and finished it last night. #drawninprocreate

Hopefully the whole Bari Weiss thing and Ezra Klein thing starts waking people up to the fact that corporate media is mostly populated with mediocre people who have made millions and gained unbelievable influence because they threaten nothing and tell wealthy people exactly what they want to hear.

This digitally painted piece honors the survivor spirit of the coyote by tracing its lineage from the first cells of life to the animal trotting our landscapes today. Below the horizon, carefully chosen ancestors mark pivotal moments in adaptation, each contributing to the form and survivor we see today. Above the horizon, Coyote stands alert at the center, framed by both Denver’s skyline and a mountain backdrop, symbols of their ability to thrive in cities as well as wilderness. Embedded in the ground are the skulls and bones of carnivores whose lineages ended long ago, emphasizing Coyote’s persistence in contrast.

My own design of H.R. Giger's Alien

Over time the xenomorph has slowly veered away from its... er.. obscene roots.
I wanted to design one with some of Giger's original perverse DNA.

I never thought I'd hesitate to draw a big mess of teeth, but I wanted a nod to the feminine lips Giger once designed for it.

Finished this one finally. Arro emerges from the brush to step into the late afternoon light, something ahead has caught his attention. Did some 3D to help with this, will post the wips next.

Yeah, my enjoyment for drawing on my iPad went up about 150% when I started using PenTips! Also, PaperLike makes a great ergonomic silicone grip for the iPencil. It’s thin enough that it won’t stop your stylus from magnetically attaching to your iPad.

True Grit Texture Supply has some great ones, especially the Chromagraph and Rusty Nib sets. Also, not sure if you’ve got a screen cover or silicone tips for getting some more friction when you’re drawing, but PenTips just came out with a long lasting iPencil tip that is phenomenal: PenTips 3.
