It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

I get that the war plans on Signal are a security/safety issue, but Iβm not seeing much discussion of how this raises the question of how much the Trump admin is using it for the disappearing feature to skirt FOIA

Statement from Julie Pace: "As a global news organization, The Associated Press informs billions of people around the world every day with factual, nonpartisan journalism.
Today we were informed by the White House that if AP did not align its editorial standards with President Donald Trumpβs executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, AP would be barred from accessing an event in the Oval Office. This afternoon APβs reporter was blocked from attending an executive order signing.
It is alarming that the Trump administration would punish AP for its independent journalism. Limiting our access to the Oval Office based on the content of APβs speech not only severely impedes the publicβs access to independent news, it plainly violates the First Amendment."

Easiest way to understand this is that he wiped out the origin of affirmative action. In their minds, they're ripping the "woke" out by the roots, which apparently includes any instruction that people consider whether they're only hiring white people

Will Trump Cut Climate Funds for Schools? Here's What Could Happen
Tax credits for energy-efficient HVAC systems and electric school buses could go away once Republicans take control of Congress.
Republicans' crusade against the Inflation Reduction Act could mean cutting off several streams of federal aid for K-12 schools:
-Clean School Bus grants/rebates
-IRS tax credits reimbursing clean-energy projects
-Technical assistance for school infrastructure projects www.edweek.org/policy-polit...

How to Avoid Dehumanizing People With Disabilities
Disability experts and advocates explain why the language used for people with disabilities needs improvement in education.
Curious about the training on the language of disabilities @mx-joyner.bsky.social helped provide education reporters at @edwriters.bsky.social national seminar? They and their co-panelists were fantastic.
VERY grateful they pushed reporters to include sources with lived experience. Game changing
