Below, the text states a commitment to replacing Ontario's first-past-the-post voting system with a mixed-member proportional system where every vote counts. It emphasizes consulting with the public, civil society, and political parties to design a made-in-Ontario system that reflects community needs. The graphic has a clean beige background with an orange stylized trillium logo in the top right corner.

A large circular chart indicates that 68% of Canadians support proportional representation, while smaller charts display support levels by party: 72% of Liberal voters, 54% of Conservative voters, 83% of NDP voters, 87% of Green voters, 74% of Bloc voters, and 77% of PPC voters. The chart uses green for support, red for opposition, and gray for "don't know." The EKOS logo appears in the bottom left, and the website www.fairvote.ca/prpoll2025 is displayed at the bottom.

We don't need "more roads", the infrastructure you should be investing in is for functional, affordable, convenient and accessible public and active transit; Ottawa is already so terminally auto-centric and the time to divest from this was long ago. 1/2
03.02.2025 00:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The U.S. is a warning: first-past-the-post weakens democracy, fueling a two-party system, policy lurch, and instability.
A small vote edge shouldnโt mean total control.
Proportional representation ensures every vote counts and keeps democracy strong.
A political campaign promise from the Nova Scotia Liberal Party titled "Implement Proportional Representation." The text states that the province needs electoral reform to ensure politicians are accountable to the people and that the system reflects society. It pledges to amend the Elections Act to introduce a moderate proportional representation model that maintains strong regional representation. An expert commission will be appointed to determine the planโs details and ensure protected representation for Acadians and African Nova Scotians. A cost estimate at the bottom states: "No additional spending required."
Repost if you think @bonnieforontario.bsky.social and the @ontarioliberal.bsky.social party should take a page from the Nova Scotia Liberals and put proportional representation in their platform.
