A neurospicy, liberal, covid-cautious quilter recovering from long covid who is excited about one day releasing their first pattern. I enjoy free motion quilting & ruler quilting on a domestic machine. ๐งต Ex-Postie (by a different name)!

03.12.2025 21:29 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Alt text does not need to be hard to write. You do not have to write paragraphs. In fact, in most cases you probably shouldn't. People using screen readers are not likely to want to have to listen to a 3 minute alt text of you describing your cat.

I just read my tenth #COVID19 research study in the past month or so that demonstrates COVID infections cause brain changes that may accelerate Alzheimer's disease, are associated with cognitive decline, and cause fatigue, memory impairment, and sleep disorders. (1/?)
05.07.2025 15:17 โ ๐ 719 ๐ 278 ๐ฌ 31 ๐ 42We need to adapt our society so support is built in everywhere. It doesnโt exist anywhere for anyone with LC.
Life will never go back to pre-2020. That ship has sailed. Now we need to prevent spreading Covid as much as possible and help everyone reduce brain inflammation.
Everything is broken in this country. Everything.

29.11.2025 18:15 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Iโm amazed by a thread going around here where people commenting are all blaming college students for being damaged by a society that sacrificed them for the economy during an ongoing pandemic in which 37% of the global population has long covid.
Society failed the next generation.
They are lying!!! Call them out on their lies.
29.11.2025 18:03 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0There is no evidence linking COVID-19 vaccines to deaths in children. There is evidence that COVID causes serious harm โ including long COVID, MIS-C, cardiac complications & diabetes.
This administrationโs actions are dangerous, and the damage to the public and children may be irreversible
You keep wanting to blame college students when itโs not their fault.
We have to fucking change America & prioritize community over individual. Support one another. Wearing a god damn mask during a never ending fucking pandemic. We have to understand how to treat brain inflammation & help people.
Society broke our kids. And society doesnโt care. We are still spreading Covid such that always a min of 150k new daily cases are occurring. And we have two waves a year where a million daily cases occur. 1/3 of all of those cases end up in long covid. And long covid we now know kills people.
29.11.2025 18:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thatโs the point. Society is causing these issues to be widespread because society doesnโt care about communities, only the economy. Then people are left to try to survive on their own in a society that doesnโt value them. Itโs an evil country we live in.
29.11.2025 17:57 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0lol, that isnโt the point. But nice try.
29.11.2025 14:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I just share that bc yes - sometimes showing up is impossible for those affected more severely. Sometimes reading is impossible. The words donโt make sense.
I love how people are quick to say itโs the kids fault but in reality we have a social problem. A society that failed these kids.
I donโt think you understand what it is like to be harmed by long covid and have it affect so much in your life. An extreme example of LC is you are dumber than a box of rocks bc of the brain inflammation but also can barely move your body bc your cells donโt make energy.
29.11.2025 14:30 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Funny how people always blame parents instead of actually looking for root causes.
Maybe society has abandoned these kids. A pandemic where too many died and people have to act normal for the sake of the economy. A world that soon wonโt be able to sustain life like we are used to bc of rising CO2
37% of the global population has long covid and thatโs just the cases we know about. A lot of people donโt realize they have been changed forever.
29.11.2025 14:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It also matters to identify root causes. Why are people having a hard time reading and comprehending information? My money is on long covid since it causes brain inflammation and each covid infection reduces your IQ by 3 pts.
29.11.2025 02:14 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thatโs an incredibly sad viewpoint instead of looking for root causes. For example covid causes brain inflammation giving us brain fog and cognitive issues. Reading becomes really hard when you have long covid. And we know each covid infections reduces your IQ by 3 pts. Society is failing here.
29.11.2025 02:12 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0I think the first step as a society ( it just your students) is admitting we have a cognitive problem affecting us. Each Covid infections reduces IQ by 3 points. We have to address the brain inflammation. We have to heal.
29.11.2025 02:09 โ ๐ 15 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Covid has affected so many - whether trauma from watching society sacrifice people for the economy or long covid giving us brain inflammation. I have long covid and the brain fog, cognitive issues are abhorrent. For a few years it was so hard to read and digest information.
29.11.2025 02:06 โ ๐ 25 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I feel pretty accomplished today given I completed a quilt block. It that I need to accomplish anything but it was nice to feel okay enough to sit at the sewing machine for 30 mins. Iโve mostly been in bed for the past week.
26.11.2025 23:47 โ ๐ 10 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I mean I have been enraged about this topic for a while, but I had also never actually figured out how they calculate the poverty line.
I am legitimately speechless.
It's not this platform. It's all of society that hates AI
26.11.2025 18:04 โ ๐ 2940 ๐ 607 ๐ฌ 60 ๐ 47I think itโs pretty clear at this point that one of the main impacts of LLMs is to disrupt thinking: to make it so that far too many people never properly learn how to do it, and then to control the output so there are thoughts that people never learn how to think.
