So apparently faculty can no longer be trusted to make curricular decisions or to manage themselves, even though we've done so successfully (thought not easily) for 1,500 years. New bill would take faculty governance power away from the faculty.

I have to say that having light past 6pm completely turns my SAD around and makes me able to feel like a full human again, even in just 2 days I feel the difference.

We aren't invited to such things because we aren't at the prestigious schools and unless you pay for it travel, we have no resources to attend. Plus we have heavy teaching, advising, and service loads with high research productivity expectations too.
