Thanks, interesting! I wonder whether the combination of having to 1) submit (probably very comprehensive?) plans 2) find a partner country for joint procurement 3) buy European, will be too deterrent for MS to access loans (would be different for grants of course). Is that too pessimistic?

Für die meisten Industrien greift ein Fokus auf Energiepreise (OpEX) in der Tat zu kurz und übersieht viele andere potenzielle Barrieren. Welche davon adressiert werden müssen variiert wie Philipp sagt von Branche zu Branche.

With the #CleanIndustrialDeal and the Affordable Energy Action Plan, the #EuropeanCommission wants to reduce energy prices - including through subsidies. While this approach has merit, it bears substantial risks if executed poorly. Find out why 👉 www.delorscentre.eu/en/publicati... #CID

Support is needed - but it's crucial that any national subsidies to lower electricity prices don't result in inefficient distortions that end up harming competitiveness and climate.
Short🧵 on a new joint OpEd:
Of course, this is a long-term endeavour + politically very sensitive and should therefore be coordinated at EU level (see for example this proposal zoe-institut.de/wp-content/u...)
