11.07.2025 13:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The tyrant fears bodhisattvas and saints not because the saint or bodhisattva will overthrow him, but because the bodhisattva makes tyranny look... unnecessary. Absurd, even. Like a man screaming at shadows while standing in broad daylight.

in ten thousand puddlesβ
break all the puddles,
the moon remains untouched.
Now then, professor:
Having deconstructed the Dharma
to fit your modern whims,
can you show me
one moment
of insight?

Ah! There it is.

"Undertake the action with the intention of doing so for the good of all beings; execute it with perfect concentration, free of attachment to concepts of subject, object, and action; and, finally, dedicate the merit you have created to the enlightenment of all beings."
~ Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche πππ
Taking notes.. π«‘
27.01.2025 19:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This album, along with the next four albums, accompanied me during dark times of my teenage years.
27.01.2025 15:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just as a skilled physician neither ignores illness nor becomes overwhelmed by it, so too the skilled practitioner of dhamma engages the suffering of sentient beings with clarity and confidence. Confidence not in outcomes, but in one's ability to perform one's best effort.
27.01.2025 15:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One need not merely observe suffering passively. Your capacity to act, to shape what unfolds, springs from the same source as your ability to feel the world's pain. They are not two.
27.01.2025 14:33 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Your very sensitivity to suffering can become your greatest strength.
27.01.2025 14:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Look carefully at how you meet others' distress. Some of you grasp it so tightly you become lost in it, while others build walls to keep it at bay. Both paths lead away from true understanding. Instead, rest in the space where compassion and wisdom meet.

Worldβs on fire π₯ and will only get hotter π₯΅
Eyes are on fire. Ears are on fire. Noses are on fire. Tongues are on fire. Skinβs on fire. Minds are on fire. On fire with what? On fire with greed, fear and ignorance.

21.01.2025 22:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Buddha's focus would not be on these issues but much more likely teaching to those who'd listen the dangers of becoming mindless zombies to social media.
20.01.2025 15:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0TikTok is China's revenge on the West for getting them hooked on opium in the 1800s. Got social media dopamine addicts feening like crackheads.
19.01.2025 15:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And media pundits fueling the very reactivity the architects of the spectacle expected, in very predictable fashion.
19.01.2025 14:32 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The ignorance and emotional reactivity of the American populace makes the nation inherently and infinitely vulnerable to manipulation, whether that be foreign manipulation, domestic-oligarachic, or a combination of both.

18.01.2025 16:50 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Or if said 7-11s weren't franchises but owned by a single entity controlled by a dictatorship relishing in the data and access it has of a foreign power they see as an obstacle to their ambitions and all they had to do was sell it and continue expanding marketshare of their many other products.
18.01.2025 16:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well if you want to argue it's a "ban" and the "ban" is bad then simply argue that you don't mind the threats that were presented to congress and that provoked them to vote for it. Otherwise I'd argue that nuance in language is important actually.
18.01.2025 12:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is true
17.01.2025 19:11 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Most threats to the existence or survival of things are endogenous. That doesn't mean exogenous threats arent eyeing you. When in the amazon dont just pay attention to whats in front of you. If you're only looking out for the obvious you're already some other animals' prey.
17.01.2025 19:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Verbal and ritual prayer's biggest role is in the tending and cultivation of collective identity.
17.01.2025 18:43 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Who are the "demos" when the "demos" is itself a carefully crafted product?
17.01.2025 18:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes. Millions of people are using a product they want you to use because your attention leads to revenue. Social media companies all want more eye-balls craving and addicted to their carefully crafted algorithms. Is that what you're referring to as "democracy"?
17.01.2025 18:31 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I don't think research into that topic supports that assertion www.nytimes.com/2023/12/21/b...
17.01.2025 17:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This image show a stereoview card on a slate mount depicting a statue of the Buddha laying on his side in a pose known as the Reclining Buddha or Sleeping Buddha. A man standing in the frame reveals the colossal size of the statue. The two photos that comprise the stereoviews are nearly identical, but are taken from slightly different angles to produce the ilusion of depth when viewed properly.
This colossal Sleeping Buddha was lost to the jungle when the Burmese city of Bago fell to invading forces in 1757.
The statue was recovered in 1881 after railroad workers began digging through a tree-covered mound looking for scrap stone. /π§΅
