Nine commonsense bills passed by the Legislature remain stalled because Speaker Hall refuses to follow the Constitution.

I joined an amicus brief filed this week in support of the Senate’s lawsuit because democracy and the rule of law still matter.

YDM stands with our friends in Minnesota and all affected by the horrific, politically motivated assassinations of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. We also send our support to State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, as they recover from their injuries.

Trump agency labels Kalamazoo County a ‘sanctuary county,’ officials say that’s ‘false’ County officials say they comply with federal immigration laws and have never declared themselves a sanctuary jurisdiction.

Once again, Donald Trump is lying — labeling Kalamazoo County a “sanctuary” to score political points.

The truth is, Kalamazoo follows the law and protects its people. Weaponizing federal funds to punish communities who didn’t vote for him is disgraceful.

Kalamazoo food packaging plant to close this spring, slash 153 jobs An Evergreen Packaging facility in Kalamazoo that produces food and beverage packaging will close this spring, eliminating 133 jobs.

153 Kalamazoo workers and their families are paying the price here. Jobs lost mean mortgages unpaid, meals skipped, and futures too uncertain. Workers deserve better.

We need to focus on growing our membership, organizing in more places with more people, advocating for meaningful change, and staying engaged year-round — not just around election time. Let’s build a Young Democrats of Michigan that’s ready to meet the moment.

This is the same activist who (while pretending to be a journalist) harassed myself, a member of my staff and a volunteer in our office during the campaign.

A Republican State Representative here in Michigan has announced on her TikTok that she has co-sponsored what’s likely to be a discriminatory and hateful ban on trans people’s participation in sports.

Our next Young Democrats of Michigan Chair needs to be someone who’ll go the distance — traveling across the state and organizing on the ground.

That’s been my commitment, and it’s what I’ll continue to do.

I have grave concerns regarding many of the proposed actions President Trump, and those who have been nominated to serve in his administration, have publicly promoted.

When Republicans inevitably fail to deliver on their promises over the next few years, Democrats need to be ready—not with cookie cutter talking points, but with real solutions.
