I don't talk too much about my poetry book.

But I'm really excited about the book cover my designer is working on, and the edits are looking great! It’s my first collection with a lot of heart and soul ❤️So I can't wait for it you to read it.

What’s something you’ve made progress on that wasn't reality before?

For me, it's my book. I just got edits back. And that's when it hit me...

I started this thing in 2023 after my last job. And now it's looking at a 2026 release.

It's crazy how we can overlook reflecting on wins like this.

I may be an author, streamer, and reader on the internet, but I’m also just a girl who plays TTRPGs, headbangs to rock music, talks and laughs loudly, loves animals, and buttons mashes on video games.

Oh… And I’m dressed in leggings/pjs almost ALL the time 😅

Thank you! Seeing my beta reader reactions has been a fun ride for sure 😂 I'm very deep into edits after just working with an editor. So I'm (kind of) hitting that final stretch!

Beta Reader reactions from ch 1:

- I just got done with chapter 1!!!The ending omgggggI need to read the next chapter 😭 why do I have to work!?
- Literally said "oh no!" out loud.

July was a WILD RIDE.

- I spent the month in and out of doctor appointments and tests
- finished plotting an audio drama
- got novel edits back from my editor (AHH!)
- survived temps over 100F
- the list goes on and on.

What’s your favorite book of all time?

Mine’s The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo.

It’s empowering, inspirational, and whether you’re spiritual or not, there are so many lessons of heart and mindfulness to take from and impact your life.

I read it every year and will always love the journey of self ❤️

Edits are back for my manuscript. So here’s to the next phase of diving into comments, imposter syndrome, but ultimately making my story even better than before.

Heart's Drum Alliterative Verse

"Your fire is not fragile. Know the beat and fight true."

As a big fan of Tolkien, of course I enjoy his alliterative verse in poetry (and his inspiration of it from old Norse poetry).

This is an oldie, but still a goodie, and you can find the full poem on Vocal!

It’s the end of the week! Have you celebrated any wins recently?

It’s easy to forget reflecting on all you’ve done. And now that we’re halfway through the year, I think it’s time to take a breath!

So, can you think of three wins from this year? Or even from just today? No matter how big or small!

Have you ever had a major AHA moment that felt like magic? In writing or otherwise?

One of my best magical writing moments was when my character’s arc came together all at once for my series. You'll get a major introduction of her insecurities in book one.

It's been a wild time writing her story 😂

Halfway through the year and I’ve already surpassed how many poems I wrote last year. And I feel like I’ve grown so much with my prose as a writer.

Getting better at something takes time, practice, and effort. Always remember that art is the journey, never the destination.

My favorite mantra is “I am not alone. I am valued and loved for who I am.”

I say this to chat at the end of my streams too. Because life can feel solitary at times, especially if you feel unloved for being “different.”

But please know you're not alone and you’re valued and loved for who you are.

The hardest part about writing a book is not being able to talk to someone 100% about all the plot machinations in your head.

So you're stuck with talking to your cats like a lunatic.

“Wait, you’re over 30 and you still like superheroes? Aren’t you a little old for that?”

Me: *turns up Captain America Winter Soldier on the TV* What? I can’t hear your judgement over this fight scene~!

Why does it take so long for me to write a book?

Listen, let me know how it goes for you when you
- act out fight scenes by yourself
- research things like lightning, metal durability, and physics
- redo a subplot pace because your character decided to kiss him NOW

But the wait will be worth it!
