A golden yellow daffodil coming into flower with snow speckles on one leaf. The variety is Narcissus Rijnveld's Early Sensation, which is the earliest-flowering variety I know of.

This is exactly what I’d hoped for, when I planted the bulbs last August - that they’d bring their special bright yellow life & cheer in all the cold and grey. 😍 xx

We’ve had only one snow shower here this afternoon - which (of course) happened to be while we were out with the dog. 🙃

First visit to the vast beach and sand dunes between Seaton Sluice and Blyth, on the #Northumberland coast just above Newcastle. So wild and wintry! Mr M not keen. But I loved it!

And most electricians are very busy with work. Every time I booked mine, I had to wait a couple of weeks at the very least for him to fit me in. If this particular one of yours was available when all the others were busy for several weeks, well… that tells its own story!!

I’ve only ever lived in modern houses, so I don’t know, I’m afraid! Some buyers might want safety and compliance certificates for everything, others may be happy to tinker. (We had to get everything certified compliant and up to date because our buyer insisted.) Sorry not to be of more help. xx

Btw, forgive me if you already know, but the choir of Durham Cathedral quite often sing Tallis at Evensong during the week. xx

Mr M wanted to go to #Hopetown museum in Darlington this afternoon. It’s a quirky place that tells the stories of generations of locals who helped build our railways & locomotives.
