Yorkshire lass now living in County Durham, UK, who loves dog walks, nature, The Archers, roses and gardening. π Not here to talk about politics.
A slo-mo for you πβοΈ
13.02.2026 16:14 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes! π A heavy shower here at lunchtime, which didnβt settle. But over to the west, at Crook and Barnard etc, theyβve had loads.
13.02.2026 16:08 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Teehee!
13.02.2026 16:07 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A golden yellow daffodil coming into flower with snow speckles on one leaf. The variety is Narcissus Rijnveld's Early Sensation, which is the earliest-flowering variety I know of.
First of my daffs opening in the garden today, despite the sleety showers weβve been having. π
This is exactly what Iβd hoped for, when I planted the bulbs last August - that theyβd bring their special bright yellow life & cheer in all the cold and grey. π xx
Weβve had only one snow shower here this afternoon - which (of course) happened to be while we were out with the dog. π
13.02.2026 16:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Of course you must get pain free and fully mobile again as soon as possible - health is precious.
I really hope it all goes well. Do keep your friends on here posted! xx
A swim?! π

I hope everyone is doing well and not too down about the eternal rainy weather we seem to be having? Iβm being cheered up by my indoor hyacinths. Theyβre in full flower just now and the scent is very strong. π
11.02.2026 21:26 β π 25 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0No, no sunshine here - feels like itβs rained every day since 2023. ππ
11.02.2026 21:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I hope it went well. Do you need to go for scans or anything? Or can they get you booked in for the op itself now?
Really hope it isnβt v expensive. xx

Sandpipers scurrying to and fro as the tide returns, with the silhouette of Whitley Bay coastline in the distance.
Beach, dunes, distant walking figures on a misty winter day.
Beach, dunes, walking figures, and the coastline of Blyth in the distance.
First visit to the vast beach and sand dunes between Seaton Sluice and Blyth, on the #Northumberland coast just above Newcastle. So wild and wintry! Mr M not keen. But I loved it!
08.02.2026 20:33 β π 22 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Daily Mail! Oh dear, enough said!! π
08.02.2026 20:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Arenβt those little toes adorable! π How far will they walk without getting tired and wanting to go home? xx
08.02.2026 20:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Two lovely smiles. π
08.02.2026 20:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Has he moved on from Give Way signs? π
08.02.2026 20:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What *is* it with black fluff?! We have exactly the same. π
08.02.2026 20:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Oh, it does! Lovely. π Were you out and about today or was knee preventing you? Hope you were able to get outside with the dogs. xx
08.02.2026 20:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Goodness! π³
08.02.2026 20:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs awful, isnβt it? A child should be grateful to be given anything, not resentful and expecting more! #TheArchers
08.02.2026 20:13 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0And most electricians are very busy with work. Every time I booked mine, I had to wait a couple of weeks at the very least for him to fit me in. If this particular one of yours was available when all the others were busy for several weeks, wellβ¦ that tells its own story!!
08.02.2026 20:11 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thatβs a good point Chris makes. xx

Light trails during a journey through the underground Tyne Tunnel.
Went down into the bowels of the Earth today! (Long camera exposures during drive through the Tyne Tunnel - and donβt worry, I wasnβt the one driving!) xx
08.02.2026 18:41 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nobody should be threatening or making a customer cry, particularly not when theyβve already been caught out padding their quote for unnecessary work. Can you go elsewhere? This person sounds completely untrustworthy. Please donβt give him your custom. xx
08.02.2026 18:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve only ever lived in modern houses, so I donβt know, Iβm afraid! Some buyers might want safety and compliance certificates for everything, others may be happy to tinker. (We had to get everything certified compliant and up to date because our buyer insisted.) Sorry not to be of more help. xx
08.02.2026 18:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Btw, forgive me if you already know, but the choir of Durham Cathedral quite often sing Tallis at Evensong during the week. xx
07.02.2026 18:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sounds a great opportunity! Have fun. π xx

Mr M wanted to go to #Hopetown museum in Darlington this afternoon. Itβs a quirky place that tells the stories of generations of locals who helped build our railways & locomotives.
07.02.2026 18:26 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sounds quite tiring but it shows youβre in demand! π
Anxiety is quietly simmering rather than ominously bubbling today thanks - next spike will probably be tomorrow night, about Monday morning! π
Oh, yuck!!!
07.02.2026 17:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The sign of a good walky!
