I’m like if “dourness” were a person. Opinions are mine. He/him/his.

21. I find it off putting when someone doesn’t tip, assuming they can afford it. Not if they dislike the concept, but if they refuse to do it meaningfully.

Tipping at the businesses in your community supports your community. It shows that you give a shit. I want to be with someone who gives a shit.

If you see this, post a character that starts with L.

NEIGHBOR: Ugh It’s freezing out! Haha, right?!

ME: Hmm.

ME, internally: My guy it is 61 degrees. Just put on a jacket.

20. Do I believe aliens exist? Sure. Our galaxy is huge, let alone a universe full of other galaxies.

I don’t believe we’ve ever found or met sapient alien life, but I would be silly to think it doesn’t exist.

FRIEND: Who’s your favorite Malazan character? Quick Ben? Fiddler?

ME: Itkovian, for sure.

FRIEND: Why? Isn’t he in one book?

ME: It’s a character who’s entire job is to hold others’ pain and grief so they can find absolution. How could I not love that character?

It does a very good job of showing that things can always be different, in the sense that it’s up to us to choose our future. I also like how it expands the lore, and I hope there are sequels.

I think the reason it didn’t really hook me is because it felt like the story needed more breathing room.

Veilguard didn’t really sink it’s hooks into me as much as I thought it would.

Not a spoiler, but it seems to want you to decide if it’s better to live in grief or guilt.

Personally, I’ll take grief any day.

19. I can’t answer this, because I genuinely have no idea.

Tbh, I don’t think I have any “attractive” features, physical or otherwise.

18. If money was no issue and I’d gotten a handle on travel anxiety, I’d probably go visit a friend who lives in Amsterdam now.

If I could stay indefinitely, I’d go to New York and probably never come back.

Claiming that folks expressing despair is some kind of performative display of “sophistication” is a fairly privileged, tiresome display of what I can only assume is a truly cavernous void where empathy should be.

What a thrill for you!

Please go eat glass and keep your rancid takes to yourself.

17. Here are some things I believe to my core:

- If you can help, you should
- Found family is family
- Let yourself feel what you feel
- Don’t take shit from bullies
- Don’t be a narc
- Be honest as much as you can
- Kind is better than nice
- Don’t force things on others

As someone who grew up with dogs, these are my primary personality traits.

(I’m still looking for an actual job.)

I should also add any agents who committed vandalism, property damage, or criminal mischief by breaking into cars, or criminal trespassing.

Speaking for myself as a registered Democrat, you’re absolutely wrong about this.

AT MINIMUM I want to see the agency shut down, and every single employee investigated and tried to the full extent of the law—ESPECIALLY leadership, and all agents who committed assault of any type or murder.

16. At the risk of sounding bleak, I gave up on ever owning a home nearly 20 years ago. That dream is dead.

But I guess if I won the lottery it would be something with enough space to host my friends for as long as they’d like to stay in the gothic revival style.

I just spent the better part of an hour taking what was essentially a personality quiz and an IQ test for a job at Procter & Gamble, only to have whatever in-browser BS they were using crash.

It told me to clear my cache and try again, and I can’t describe how hard that “no thanks” is.

15. I play/run a fair amount of D&D, I enjoy writing game scenarios when the mood hits me, I consume media (books, music, comedy, movies, video games), drink coffee, struggle with depression and anxiety.

I’m also trying to find some type of exercise that I enjoy.

14. I care about what friends or romantic partners think about me.

Other folks will like me or they won’t, and I can’t make that choice for them.

This reminds me of something I read in my early 30s, when I was reading a ton of Carl Jung.

I don’t remember what the book was or the exact quote, but it boiled down to: people do horrible things because none of us want to accept that every individual is capable of doing horrible things.

13. Best concert was Ghost last August.

The band was amazing, the feeling of community with other fans was amazing, and I got to spend time with an exceptional human after.

A great example of this is the Vampire Knight Blu-ray release from a few years ago.

Enough people were interested that the person who produced that release was able to convince management that it was worth the cost.

Yeah, not surprising. Slow or low sales is often why you see series not get finished, rights change hands (“not worth” holding onto), release features (like extras) disappear, or production quality tank (no LEs, cheaper packaging, etc).

Aside from sales, it helps if there’s a very vocal fandom.

12. Trust? No. If someone has my trust, then they have my trust until they prove they shouldn’t.

I DO have faith issues. I find it very difficult to just believe in a person or thing when I see no evidence backing that belief.

I wouldn’t say any of them have been particularly “hard.”

I don’t think he’s been cancelled, per se, but I did watch the Sonic movies despite Jim Carrey being in them. I avoid anything else he does, though, because of the whole anti-vaccine/autism thing.

Probably some exec just lacks vision. The guy who hired me at my last job pitched trying to animate “Codename: Sailor V” multiple times, and got shot down because his boss didn’t believe it would be profitable.

OR the creator hates it and won’t let anyone touch it.

11. If we’re talking about the people I’m close to it’s words of affirmation, touch, and/or time together. Basically the ways I show affection and appreciation are the ways I like to receive it the most.

That said, $100 ain’t shit in SF.

I decided to try Monday.com because I keep seeing it in job posts.

It’s not great. It feels like someone looked at a real project management tool like Wrike and said, “hey what if we pared this down to the absolute minimum then stuck a bunch of AI in there to get C-suite execs super into it?”

I tried a zero sugar, keto-friendly cereal once. It was like eating those liquid-filled wax candies shaped like bottles.

I’ll stick to scouring the roof of my mouth with Cap’n Crunch.
