2025 off to a decent start with the weather, but let's see if it holds.

Yes. Here’s my M17 from last year in narrowband.

It’s interesting how much different, and more stunning, M17 in particular looks in SHO vs RGB.

I use PixInsight with the Russ Croman plugins and a few of Bill Blanshan’s scripts/processes. For something quick like this, I have a few presets for each saved and run the WBPP masters through them. No more than 10 min to get an idea of how much more I want to capture.

Been cloudy past few nights, so here's a draft of the Wizard nebula. Minimal processing; about 8 hrs of SHO data.

That blend of blue and green is really nice. Neither one is overpowering.

At only 1M ly, wouldn’t the galactic halos be interacting already and lead to a future merger into a single elliptical galaxy?

Oh, there’s a few southern hemisphere targets on my list for when I can get some remote time. Tarantula, Fighting Dragons of Ara, Statue of Liberty, etc.

Dragons can be possible from here - but everything has to line up perfectly for when they peak, and it’s only a few nights a year.

I’ve shot this many times now, but each time I manage to pull out more detail.

M16 - The Eagle, with a focus on the pillars of creation.

In addition to not following directions, going over the limit is just more room to make mistakes.

I use a laser to mechanically align the focuser and a tribahtinov for the mirrors. Seems to work well and is fairly quick.

I got an adapter made that physically separates the image train from the primary, and it’s made collimation much easier.

Wouldn’t you want a large set of SN 1a as the basis, rather than 10 handpicked ones?

Cherry-picked data can show anything.
