close I was to winning. He thought I was at 10 when it was 18. 2nd game they made me work for the win. I was stuck on 18 for at least 3 rounds while they cleared my board. Thankfully neither one could pull out the win while stopping me.

Monday night Lorcana was good! I played 1v1 with @psypher1000.lorcana.community & lost. Then went to a 3 player game where I won twice. The 1st one I kept getting uninkable cards which I tried to get rid of. Then I just got cards with high questing & kept it coming. One player didn’t realize how

While on a walk today, Malcolm, my dog, met River a 3 month old puppy. She came with the name & the family decided to keep it. I got a kick out of it.

I went to 2 used book stores with @pretty-b1rd.bsky.social. I was able to find 3 books. One is for my friend that I think will like. It’s a 1887 reprint of recipes from the White House. The other 2 weren’t on my list but it was hard to pass up a version of King Arthur by Steinbeck.

I was able to see Alanis Morissette in concert & I really enjoyed it. It felt very intimate & she shared a lot about her career, her life & her struggles. The music industry & ppl in general didn’t know what to do with her when she burst on the scene. She sang my favorite song.

Not a great start as I forgot my purse in the Uber we took but I was able to get it back quickly. It’s super busy here & almost got run over a taxi when I got out of the car.

I meant to post on the 19th we had our monthly game board day. We played three games: Villianous, Bees & Down Force. Fun time!

Today on the walk with Malcolm (my dog), I was talking to a neighbor & Malcolm was pulling on the leash. One minute he’s on it & the next I don’t feel any tension. His leash broke! Old leash plus he’s been chewing on it equaled breaking free for 2 seconds. I had to carry him back home.

Went to my 1st book club in my neighborhood. They were all really nice & they seem to do a lot together outside club. It was nice to meet others as we’ve lived here for 3 yrs. This seems to be my theme: possible friends take time.
We seemed to all like The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches.

Played my Monday night Lorcana league & lost all the games. I came close a couple of times but people saw me as threat & completely kept clearing my board. So another player could quietly win. I do need to tweak my deck a bit but I was a bit frustrated.

played with another dog & greeted the dog’s owner Kelly. He did very good today. Not so good with trying to eat everything on the walk but at least he’s finding that people & dogs outside of the house aren’t so scary.

I finished the 2nd book in the Gwen St James series called Moonstruck. I’ve enjoyed both books & there are more to read. It’s in a world where creatures like fae, vampires, witches, dwarves etc live together with humans. It reminds me slightly of the HBO series that I liked. Something is brewing tho

At Friday night’s Lorcana we played 1 game of 3 players which I ended up winning then 1 game with 4 players - all pack rush. We stitched to our regular decks & played 1 game of 5 players which I won. Our last game was a 4 player game. It was an interesting night!

You know you can trust a doctor when she commented that she read the book I was reading right now (The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna) & that she liked it. Also she’s reading the 2nd book in the series.

My mom, my friend & I made Lego hearts. It was fun & I think my mom enjoys doing them. My friend & I aren’t sure how we’re getting them home without them completely breaking but we packed the instructions in case it does.

We did Checkerboard tonight! My friend said it lived up to my hype I’ve been spouting for yrs. We got an order & a 1/2 of onion rings. 3 large pizzas: cheeseburger, mushroom & pepperoni & Erin & I shared a 1/2 sauerkraut & Canadian bacon & half mushroom, pepperoni & black olives. Delicious as usual.

My friend & I stayed in an old Victorian house. It was neat but they had blocked off part of the house. It would’ve been interesting to see how the house was laid out before they blocked it off. We sat on the porch both nights we were there & it was a pleasant time to chill.

Then we had dinner, walked around, checked out the Mississippi River & then went to have a s’more!

I finally was able to visit Antique Archaeology store! No one from the show was there but it was still neat. I got a few items & then we did more local shopping. A cute town & only 2 hours away from Chicago.

Monday night Lorcana league was not in the cards for me. We played 1 game of 2v2 & my team lost. Then 4 - 3 player games & I lost all of those as well. Still has fun hanging out & we were able to get the Fabled packs.

Saw a post on FB asking people to list a book they didn’t like but everyone does. I didn’t scroll through all the comments but When the Crawdads Sing was a title I kept seeing. Lessons in Chemistry & Remarkably Bright Creatures were other titles that popped up. Also saw Discovery of Witches.

Played 2 - 4 player game at Friday night Lorcana. I won the 1st game but it was super close. It was a win by the draw of a card. The 2nd game I lost but our friend won by playing a bodyguard that gave her 3 lore in a turn.

Reading How to Win Friends & Influence People for one of my book clubs. I’m slogging through it but don’t love it. I basically feel it’s saying stuff that should be basic knowledge. Be nice to people, listen, be sincere, know & properly pronounce people’s names etc. Ready to read the next book.

Played Monday night Lorcana last night: 3 - 5 player games & I didn’t win any of them but still had a good time. My last game hand was terrible. I had 3 uninkables & only one inkable. 2 of them were A Whole New World so I played it to get new cards. Next Mon is a friendly tournament we’re doing.

Tonight at Friday Lorcana league we played 1 - 4 player game which I got real close (19) but lost in the end. I had to work real hard for that lore. Then we played 1 - 5 player game & I was able to pull off a win. Another tight game which again the other players didn’t make it easy. I had a fun!
