Startling Terror Tales #10 (1952). On the cover, a creature resembling Mr. Hyde but with a green face is holding a woman by her hair, and looks like he is about to either hit her with a thin club or stake her in the chest.

β€œThe traditional model of creation β†’ completion has, in many cases, given way to something more fluid, recursive, and continuous. The endurance of the idea… its refusal to conclude… is the work itself. Social media provides a stage for this endlessness, allowing the performance to loop…loop…loop…”

"By Aquarium" by Remedios Varo illustrates a surreal scene featuring an enigmatic figure draped in a vibrant cloak, holding a key and walking alongside a smaller, darker figure within a densely wooded area. Varo's characteristic style blends mystical and symbolic elements, reflecting her fascination with alchemy and the subconscious.

The shadow of figure is approaching from left. I just noticed how the arc of her back and arm moves from left to right. Then silhouetted arc at the top moves from right to left over to the shadow. Wonderful. Joe Wright was incredible.

Joseph Wright of Derby painting from Can We Stop Killing Each Other? exhibition at Sainsbury Centre. It's huge. The space above and to the right of the figures is just massive. The shadow of a figure approaching from the right is pure cinema. It's like a movie. Amazing.

George Romney painting of King Lear from Can We Stop Killing Each Other? exhibition at Sainsbury Centre. Strange and beautiful. Just noticed it's a square format. Love the space above the figures.

Can We Stop Killing Each Other? review – a violence-themed show that’s about as dangerous as a garden centre This exhibition asks whether art can diminish the human capacity for violence – but you might want to throttle someone after seeing this nonsense

Can We Stop Killing Each Other? exhibition is a great selection of disparate images with vaguely anthropological viewpoint. If you take the title too seriously you'll end up feeling a bit irritated. I loved it. www.theguardian.com/artanddesign...

This is good on the danger of becoming too detailed too soon. Lot's of destruction is to do with re-simplifying.
