last night i had a dream where i was playing a race against cpus in kirby air riders and won, but there was a mechanic where one of the cpus could be randomly revealed to have died in the middle of the race and it would automatically give them first place

honestly its kind of a miracle that the squeak squad itself are so memorable given how sauceless the rest of the game is

Yeah, I think this disparity between secret boss reward choices is probably why they aren’t a thing in Chapters 3 and 4, that way nobody feels cheated for picking the “weaker” choice

This also just now caused me to realize that if you don’t pick up Jevilstail then your only option for attack boosting armor for Snowgrave NEO is IronShackle since FrayedBowties are only accessible in Main Route

I’m also just a bigger fan of the larger utility I can get out of Jevilstail due to it being a piece of armor and not limited to just Susie, especially with how rare attack boosting armor is until Chapter 4. Ends up being useful for fights like Snowgrave NEO and Giga Queen

Yeah, ultimately the extra damage only matters if you’re trying to minimize as many turns as possible (like as long as I’m not hitting Tempest I don’t care how long my knight fights are casually, I’ve been able to no hit all the way up to right before Tempest) so it’s a minute difference

I would say this gives PuppetScarf zero uses but you’re forced to grab it in Weird Route so it has a legitimate niche there

Anyways I think we can all agree Dealmaker is the real goat here. +5 Defense (tied with TennaTie and GoldWidow for most defense) and +5 Magic (one more than MysticBand btw) is insane for a piece of armor you can get in Chapter 2

I can’t exactly speak for Gerson since I tended to avoid Rude Buster and go for OKHeal instead (risk of getting hurt from messing up a parry and it also gives less stars than healing) but I have heard it can save a turn (although idk how tight that actually is)

Me who has never once used healing with Susie in normal fights (also the TP difference for Knight never made a difference for me, even before I got good at Knight I never once struggled to have enough TP for rude buster unless someone was downed in which case I was most likely already going to die)
