As so many survivors of sexual assault can tell you; and, many likely did: all of this was predictable. The inherent misogyny and elitism of our culture prevented the majority from hearing.

Been there, done that. Anyone supporting dehumanizing policies whether through word, deed, or silence is a hard no for me. I’m currently left with only my husband and daughter and couldn’t be more at peace with the decision.

Maybe today everything is too much. But alas, tomorrow will be the same….living in a country that is clearly unsafe for so many is not conducive to integration work.

Birds of a feather….. the elites will stick together, despite politics. Furthermore, rich white men have built the system to support their racist, misogynistic and dehumanization of those labeled others.

I agree. The far reaching complicity is astounding. It’s sickening and vile and it transcends the social elite and falls onto all those that support dehumanization in word or deed.

Respect for the maturity of Greenday’s message. They made their political stance clear before the Super Bowl; but, chose to honor the message of a Latino artist making a statement about belonging and love over hate. Back in the day they would have screamed, now they amplify and stand in solidarity.

If you didn’t understand the Super Bowl musical performances, it’s not because you don’t understand Spanish, it’s because you don’t lead with your heart.

Sometimes the rage burns brightly to cast the shadows of despair away.

Women said what he was before 2016. We had evidence. We had his own words. We had court findings. And we were told it didn’t matter, we were overreacting, policy was more important. Now people are shocked he’s exactly what women said he was. Believe women the first time.

(The Epstein files are not just about who’s in the Epstein files. Women and girls, and the people who can’t shield themselves from harm with wealth, are as not ok as we’ve been in our lifetimes.)

Not sure this is an either or situation, sadly.

Sexual abuse of girls has been hidden within families and institutions for decades. Fuck everyone that is complicit. Survivors have been silenced for generations. We’re no longer silent. Epstein survivors have our loyalty and we’ll add our voices to theirs.
