Flyer for the "Give and Take" event in Stratford-upon-Avon, organised in conjunction with the Repair Cafe by Net Zero Stratford. Here's a summary of the event details: Purpose: To encourage the free exchange of good quality, unwanted items, reducing waste and saving money. Location & Schedule: Held on the first Saturday of each month from March 2025 at Stratford Methodist Church, from 10 am - 1 pm. The next event is on September 6th, 2025. Monthly Theme: Each month has a specific theme for items to be brought and taken. For September 2025, the theme is Clothes and Accessories. Key Rules: No money is exchanged; all items are given and taken freely. No need to give an item to take one. Only clean and usable items are accepted; no electrical items are permitted. Don't forget it's Friday evening so the Community Kitchen is running in the Ken Kennett centre. Freshly prepared tasty vegetarian meals where you pay what you can afford. Bring a doggy bag to take extras home with you too!

A reminder that tomorrow, Saturday 2nd August, is a #RepairCafe day in #StratfordUponAvon. Come to the Methodist hall opposite Holy Trinity between 10am and 2pm to see if we can fix your bikes, sewing, clocks, guitar strings, electronics, toys, sharpening, computers, etc. Free but donations welcome!

Saturday sees our regular #RepairCafe from 10am to 2pm at the Methodist Church Hall in #StratfordUponAvon.

This month we'll have someone who can restring guitars (acoustic, electric & bass), ukuleles, mandolins and banjos. Bring your instrument and some strings!

Whilst our Climate Hub in Meer Street is closed for refurbishment, we've got a stand in Stratford Library every Monday from 10am-noon. Pop in if you have a question you'd like to ask us... or just to say "Hello!".

We'll will be meeting this Wednesday at 7:30 pm, in the New Room in Stratford Methodist Church. We will be joined by Councillor Kate Rolfe, who represents Stratford South, to talk about councils, buses and bus stops, and her view of Reform's ability to do damage at County Council. All welcome!

A small team from SCA had a stall at the Clopton Family Fun Day today, collecting signatures in support of #allotment plots near Tesco. Lots of supporters of the idea!

We're at Clopton Family Fun Day between 1 and 4 pm on Hodgson's Green, by Justins Avenue.

We are creating a reading space for children and asking people their thoughts about allotments on land between Justin's Avenue and Tesco.

A last look at the Climate Hub before we packed it away this morning.

We've packed away the Climate Hub today in preparation for the refurbishment work to start soon.

We'll be back in the Hub soon, but in the meantime we have Community Kitchen in the Ken Kennett centre on Fridays 5-7pm, a #RepairCafe on 2nd Aug and a stand in the Library on Mondays from 14th July.

District Councils’ Climate Action Scorecards Want to know how effective UK councils’ climate plans and strategies are? Check out the Council Climate Scorecards to see your Council’s score and how it compares to others across the UK.

The @climateemergencyuk.bsky.social annual council score cards are now out, and @stratforddc.bsky.social results have mostly improved this year. Still looks like transport is a big issue needing to be tackled though.

Another #RepairCafe event completed today. A wide range of things fixed including bikes, sewing, electrical items and sharpening. Plus we had the lovely bring-n-take stall folk on hand, this month focusing on 2nd hand books.

Every Friday we host a "Community Kitchen" event at the Ken Kennett Centre in #StratfordUponAvon between 5 and 7pm. Talented local cooks prepare delicious meals and you pay what you feel it is worth/can afford. Usually plenty to take some home too!

Coming up this weekend is our regular monthly #RepairCafe on Saturday 5th July from 10am to 2pm in the Methodist Church Hall. Repairs done for free by volunteers, though donations to help cover costs are welcome.
