I had a good reason to push to do it. Needed artwork for mum's next journal notebook. Must keep her supplied. Never two the same :)

A small bird with a long black tail. It has blush pink patches of feathers on the tops of its folded wings. Black is the base colour. The face is white and fluffy, with some black peeking through. It's perched on a winter bare plant stem.

My latest artwork is, "Winter Pink". A long tailed tit on a winter bare sunflower stem. Hand drawn in Procreate on the iPad from a reference photo I took through my window in my garden.

He has a droopy right wing that you don't see here. Lived in my hedge for the winter when he was injured. Is thriving and raising lots of blue-eyed babies now. Love to see him!

Hen Harrier in flight. Taken at WWT Caerlaverock Wetland Centre. My first serious bird-in-flight photo. A year and a half since I took up bird photography as a hobby.

That would be cool. I'll just need to remember to use the hashtag. I'm terrible at finding emojis.

Would it be OK to include my artwork posts too?

A nuthatch doing a classic pointing pose side onto the camera. They are perched on a wooden surface and one thin leafless twig is above and beside them. The background is a blurred mid-green.

Nuthatch in the garden. Only about the third time of seeing one here and they finally posed for me.

Little coal tit on a rose stem. Tiny, flighty, and almost impossible to catch keeping still. Here is patience rewarded. A split second before he was off again. Always busy.

Hey Bluesky. Have some more art to cheer up your Monday. I drew this from a photo I took. It was done in Procreate on my iPad. Bluetit on a garden ornament.

A tired smile on a semi-femme face wearing glasses. I'm in the passenger seat (UK) of a car. The window is slightly open and you can see green fields and a blue sky. My left hand is in the foreground gripping my vape and with door keys on a key ring sticking out between my middle and index fingers.

Repost a pic of you experiencing pure joy.

Ladles and Jellyspoons, we have begun our descent into Liatris Spicata. Please turn off all portable electronic devices and stow them until we have arrived at the gate. In preparation for landing, be certain your seat back is straight up and your seat belt is fastened. Thanks for flying Bumblebee.

I've written a quick blog post on my (semi-dormant) wildlife blog. It's all about how I drew Starling in the Rain from the reference image to the finished piece. The 30-second timelapse of the whole process is in there too. I wrote it for you Bluesky. Thank you.

Thank you. I love my birds. I take all my reference photos myself. If each piece didn't take me so long to draw, I'd love to animate one. There's no way I could manage that though.

Detail of a European Starling's bright yellow beak and dark face with the eye in the centre. The image is in high resolution so that individual drawing marks can be seen. The eye is so detailed that you can almost see the reflection of my house from where the reference image was taken.

Here's a detail from the high-resolution image of "Starling in the Rain." Showing the way the image was created. I work with one brush for the main subject of a piece in Procreate. I always use Derwent Pencil. I work on a single layer in the same way I used to on paper.
