Good morning, creatives! I read somewhere that "cozy" is trending in mysteries. And, some writers wondered why. I think it's because the state of the world is violent enough, and readers want an escape rather than a reminder. What do you think?

For the life of me, I cannot spell "narcissist" or "narcissistic" without looking it up first! What's a word you can't spell without looking it up first?

Is it true that the House passed the (anti-fair and free elections) SAVE Act?? I believe this, too, will backfire on them. I hope, anyway. Why aren't we hearing more about this and raising a hue and cry!

Keep doing what brings you joy, and the rest will fall into place. Read a lot, and write a lot.

I am! It took my s-i-l an hour and a half to get home yesterday. Normally, it's a half-hour drive. He said when the traffic lights turned green, nobody's cars moved because they couldn't get any traction due to the ice! I'm just glad everyone got home safe!

I am a full-time author! I've done the indie author thing for a few years now, but I have decided to return to traditional publishing. I am once again agented, which is nice. Still, I recently put out a children's book. I guess I'm still a hybrid author.

My greatest weakness as an author is my lack of business and promotional sense. I taught elementary education for many years, while also writing. I have 13 traditionally published novels and 7 indie-published novels. I don't do much promotion, but I still do okay sales-wise. It's a mystery to me!

I plot my stories on spreadsheets. Does that count? Not sure what a business plan would look like for "writing." I have goals, but achieving them is sometimes out of my control. I can't force people to buy & read my books. (Wish I could, though.)

Good morning, creatives! I met with my critique partner yesterday, so I'm editing this morning. We had snow yesterday, which followed rain. The roads are icy beneath the snow. It took my kids forever to get home after work. Stay safe!

Political Financing Financial reports to political parties, candidates, electoral district associations, nomination contestants and leadership contestants.

We need election reform to get corporate money out of the equation, and maybe looking at how other nations do things might be worthwhile.

End Citizens United, and limit the amount anyone can contribute to a political campaign. Better yet, publicly fund elections and limit campaigning to a few months prior to the election. End contributions altogether! Also, re-enact the "Fairness" doctrine."
