God this is in poor taste. What better way to grieve than to talk to an undead robot that pretends to be someone you care about, that'll definitely help you process and not cause a mental health issue πŸ™„Things like this that remind you that tech bros don't have normal human emotions or interactions.

An image from "This Is All There Is". A continuation of themes I have explored previously; beauty in the banal, the mundanity of ordinary objects and places and achieving immortality through creation.

The BBC ceased being a "neutral" party in its reporting long, long ago

A radio programme like the Shipping Forecast but it’s called Bin Day and it just reads out every single council in the country’s bin schedule

Proof that I am more tired than I realise; just poured water from the kettle into an empty mug instead of the cafetiere and was then confused why it was just water and not coffee.

I'd have enjoyed Gladiator 2 MUCH more if I'd done that to it

Saw a free preview of the running man. It was not very good. However, it was fun and stupid and I enjoyed it more than fucking gladiator 2 at least.

Well the canal was built in 1799 so I guess imagine what an old motorway might look like in 2225.

Just imagine, once this was a busy transport route, bustling with activity and people. Did those that frequented the area ever imagine how it would fall into disuse? Can we imagine how our own world will look in a few centuries time?

Travelling down a back route is always more interesting than a thoroughfare everyone else is walking along. You see things other people don't, little subtleties, the way the light hits, views and angles others have missed. Much like life itself.

So my partner booked for us to go to a fireworks display, has reminded me of the time across this week, has told me what time we need to leave the house to get there and be able to park up etc etc. it is now 2 minutes past the time they said we should leave, they are not currently dressed, AT ALL.

I love this building, old architecture repurposed as a home (I've seen an estate agent listing of the interior and it's absolutely nuts how it looks inside). Not everything has to be new, you can re-use and adapt old for new purposes.

Just how small we are in comparison to our surroundings.

Like a neighbour peeking their head over the fence to get in on the gossip, I've always seen these windows as like spying eyes.

This Is an angle I seem to use a lot when photographing, there's something pleasing about the shapes and spaces created when looking down rather than looking forward.

This was the last time me and my partner travelled prior to COVID shutting down our plans for a couple of years. As I write this something else, thankfully something positive, is shutting down any travel plans for a while too. Funny how things repeat in different ways.

Happy 30th birthday to me, 9 years have passed and many things have changed but this view has remained and will likely do so for years to come. I mean unless the Arno rises and sweeps Firenze away.

This was taken through the filthy, salt stained window of a boat as we sailed across the lagoon. It's only when you see water in such quantities that you realise how blue this fragile planet can be.

Five years have passed since I made this image, a staircase in woodland, it's quite possible it is even more rotted away, overgrown, reclaimed by the natural world. We too are fragile, like the seasons we change but remain the same underneath.

The ugly concrete contrasting with the warm summer light and cutting through shadow. Natural and unnatural can combine, both can create beauty and both can be beautiful in their own way. A place no one goes, because why would they?

The old and the new. Why bother removing the old sign? Nature will reclaim it anyway.

This is exactly why I document, this church not long ago was the solitary building other than a pub down a lane, it now stands surrounded by new housing, new people, new life, it's graveyard has seen centuries of change but perhaps nothing as fast as this.

An average house on an average street, I have dozens of not hundreds of similar images but every one has subtle differences, differences that can be linked to the occupants, former and current, and their personalities, after all a house is often much more than just a dwelling, but a home.

Thank you, I have always felt that photography as a healing mechanism is very powerful, it's a good excuse to get out and blow away any cobwebs and concentrate on creation rather than negativity :)
