Hello! I know I don't post here often, but does anyone know of any opportunities in psychology or neuro (preferably in Minnesota) that are open right now? Asking for myself and anyone else interested in getting more involved in these fields.

After 24 hours on his feet, Cory Booker is defending the scientific research establishment of this country - calling out an experience like the one that drives me and SO MANY of my fellow scientists to do the work we do - that maybe we can do for others what we couldn't for our own loved ones.

Top left: illustration of the positive- and negative-valued single whisker stimuli. A lick response to the positive stimulus was associated with reward (water) while a lick response to the negative stimulus was associated with punishment (extra locomotor delay). Top right: rasters of lick timing during Go and No-Go trials. The touch window is shaded. Bottom left: illustration of the experimental system combining active tactile discrimination, whisker tracking, and electrophysiology in either the barrel cortex or superior colliculus. Bottom right: Top, histological section of superior colliculus and three-shank silicon probe dye labeling. Bottom, Allen Brain Atlas of corresponding region of superior colliculus.

Intelligent behavior includes the ability to respond selectively to #stimuli with higher value. @scottrpluta.bsky.social &co reveal where & how in the murine neural hierarchy the transition from a map of stimulus location to a map of stimulus value occurs @plosbiology.org ๐Ÿงช plos.io/4jgxnKZ

Nutritional regulation of oligodendrocyte differentiation regulates perineuronal net remodeling in the median eminence Kohnke etย al. find that median eminence oligodendrocyte proliferation and differentiation uniquely respond to nutritional signals, revealing the plasticity of this cell type. They directly implicate a...

A fascinating article on how oligodendrocytes play a role in energy homeostasis. It would be interesting to see how these glia, and other glia in the hypothalamus, would be impacted by eating disorders.
