At work our race equality allies group will be holding an event on what proactive allyship looks like in the current climate. I co-chair it so if anyone has ideas please get in touch. We don't want the people affected always having to take up the mantle. It's on all of us to say no, not here.

Many people & organisations seemed to freeze last summer, not wanting to seem 'political', but at the heart of this is people having to have conversations with their young kids about how to get home safely and where to avoid. It's not on and not the kind of country I want to live in.

Hearing after last summer how unsafe many ethnically diverse colleagues and friends felt going about their day-to-day lives, please ask your colleagues and friends if they're OK, if they need support, if there's anything you can do that will help them feel safer
