My father in law was an absolute gem of a human being, and a giant of a botanist. Even in his last days, he was still working on his recent discovery about the growth habits of Garry Oak branches. May we all live with such passion.

My mother made me a hand-tied flower quilt when I was a baby. She's gone, now, and I can still see how her hands would have tied each of those beautiful knots; the stitches that she made with love for me. What a beautiful gift for your child. 💛
