I am not a cat.

19.10.2025 23:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We already tested this extensively during Covid and BLM and found that police refused to enforce masking requirements or business closures for ideological reasons and brutalized protesters despite orders not to. What's left to test? bsky.app/profile/book...
10.10.2025 17:53 โ ๐ 286 ๐ 26 ๐ฌ 14 ๐ 1The core American right-wing reactionary cannot be satisfied because they already are as satisfied as they're ever going to be. All the coherent things that they claim to want, they already have. Everything beyond that is just base aesthetic aversion to stuff that they find vaguely annoying.
20.09.2025 16:12 โ ๐ 64 ๐ 20 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0My point is that it's not just about Kirk's ideology. If he had been some random on 4chan or Reddit nobody would know who he was.
It's about how he chose to monetize and spread his ideology.
That doesn't mean he should have been murdered. But it's about more than his beliefs.
Hereโs the thing for people who voted for Trump in 2024 and have come to regret it:
Nobody can go back in time and undo anything - and we all have things we wish we could undo.
But do remember the people who convinced you this was a good idea. And stop taking political advice from them!
Wrote my MP. Their whole "elbows up" thing can't mean "hook elbows with bigots." I was clear about how elevating the hateful, violent views of people like this by inviting them to the table kills.
I mean, I know the Liberals are just centrists with nicer hair, but.

I lived in Europe, and kids were wearing Jordan merch!
01.09.2025 18:56 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Of course, COVID is actually quite bad for kids, and a whole whack of kids now have permanent health struggles they wouldn't have had if we'd protected them better.
We didn't know the full extent of the damage COVID could do to the body, but we knew it was potentially serious.
I still see people spreading the narrative that those early school closures are responsible for the uptick in diseases generally, and for them being more likely to result in serious outcomes.
STILL, this "immunity debt" bs keeps on going.
The Guardian has today printed the names, and where possible, images, of all the media workers killed in Gaza, as part of an international day of action involving more than 150 media organisations.

Anecdotally, we visited family in the US every year, and had two trips planned for 2025. We fully cancelled on, and moved the other north of the border.
Everyone in RL I talk to about this here in Canada agrees, and many share similar change of plans.
"It's just not worth the risk"
On one hand, reducing car use reduces urban pollution.
But on the other, everyone likes it and cities become more livable
I do not have the biological profile of a cis woman nor a cis man. I am trans and my trans biology needs to be recognised by the health service for the benefit of my safety.
But for ideological reasons the government have pushed the NHS to prioritise my anatomy as an infant to my anatomy as a adult
And no intersex option, either.
Just no medical reasoning whatsoever.
YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.

26.08.2025 11:15 โ ๐ 3328 ๐ 1678 ๐ฌ 14 ๐ 31Generative AI products like ChatGPT work by scanning data, and then concocting a response which sounds like the data. In other words, it's always making something up, and giving an answer that sounds right based on what it has "learned". This is how we got to this bizarre illustration of pregnancy.
27.08.2025 10:01 โ ๐ 269 ๐ 33 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 3My way was being there for Pride. That didn't change!
26.08.2025 21:58 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As a parent who had a child with me that day, I wouldn't let my kid just stand next to someone I felt was unsafe. Just, like, take your kid by the hand and walk a few steps in another direction.
It's fine, I promise.
They were there, but it was also Pride. In the same way that the normal parade has different orgs all promoting their own thing.
Dismissing everyone and telling them that it's all cancelled came from Capital Pride. For everyone else, just keep walking.
No one was left behind. Anyone was welcome to keep marching.
25.08.2025 21:04 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Not sure what you mean by this, since the whole issue is with the city and sponsors pulling out when Pride was inclusive, and an attempt to steer it toward MORE inclusivity.
Now, are you saying that I'm intolerant for not tolerating intolerance?
Capital Pride, the organization, cancelled their participation.
The march itself continued.
I started in the regular lineup, a union on one side and politicians on the other. I ended the march surrounded by actual queer people.
I dunno, doesn't seem pearl clutch-worthy to me.
And the Nazis were fighting against the destabilizing influence of Marxist Jews.
I dunno, man. I try not to whole-throatedly swallow what the people who've levelled whole cities and bombed hospitals and schools have to say.
Not sure if you've heard, but there's a genocide happening. Israel is killing all Palestinians, including the queer ones.
Queer Palestinians are being bombed. Queer Palestinians are shot at when they try to access food aid. Queer Palestinians are being deliberately starved by Israel.
The big corporations left, so the march that continued was just us - people.
That's a village.
