Absolutely brilliant that this is happening. Rehabilitation of offenders must be THE key objective for prisons if we are to be the society we should be.

Reform UK can't just go around writing unhinged letters threatening investors with reprisals for growing our green economy and creating good, well-paid jobs. Here's my response and the questions they need to answer - signed by 58 Labour MPs.

President Trump, "My people have promised me we are going into elections, and make sure they're not rigged"

"Wind power doesn't work.. Kills all the birds.. Made in China.. I have never seen a wind farm in China"

Exciting news from Finland: the world’s largest sand battery (1 MW/100 MWh) is now online!

The Pornainen project by Polar Night Energy is 10x bigger than the first commercial sand battery and sets a new benchmark for affordable, long-duration energy storage.

It is remarkable that the west is committing to spending 5% of GDP on defence, and almost no one has made the case that the most pressing threat to our security this century is climate change and we should be spending more on tackling that.

Reform’s councils begin war on net zero projects in countryside Richard Tice declares party’s local authorities will do everything to block renewable developments

Reform UK's war on cheap home grown energy is, er, interesting. I wonder if it will go the whole hog and campaign on a ticket of higher bills and energy dependence.

We should all discuss and debate more calmly how as we move away from the economics of gas setting price most of time to zero marginal cost most of time, economic system should change. Have not yet seen a willingness to do that and that is all our loss.

I am not looking for system to remain as is but has been disappointing that inconvenient truths like CoC are ignored and “vested interest” labels are bandied around by some - who err, often have vested interests.

We can also agree that neither sharper TNUOS nor Nodal are needed to tell us there is a big constraint between England and Scotland

We have both agreed for some time that central planning is not great but it’s also not true that any other system is better…. just because it’s not central planning.

Happy with sharper TNUOS. Pretty much every report shows even a relatively small change in CoC wipes out the perceived benefits of Nodal. Usually, IMO, there is no acceptance of this by proponents of Nodal. Or if they do, no acceptance that the increased uncertainty of future revenues increases CoC.

Trump can’t figure out how to score a point on Russia or China, so he’s punishing our allies and kicking our own economy in the teeth.

Will they take any account of the cost of capital changes brought about by the increased volatility? Every report shows even a small increase in CoC wipes out any possible benefits.

Zonal electricity pricing plan could add £3bn a year to GB bills, report finds Research finds proposal may also drive up cost of building new windfarms as developers need higher subsidies to offset cost

Far from cutting energy bills, a new plan to break Great Britain into pricing zones could end up increasing them, say UK Energy Research Centre.

Increased risk premium for renewables would outweigh any gains from more efficient location of energy infrastructure

Less than 20 red wolves remain in the wild. We had a plan to save them. Then Trump got in the way.

Last year, NC received $25 million from the US Dept. of Transportation to build underpasses on Highway 64 - an announcement that was widely celebrated. Vehicle collisions are a leading threat to critically endangered Red Wolves, + underpasses are seen as a potential solution.
