I see. I find it shocking that traditional advertising has to be careful with the wording (like how Redbull has to disclose that it actually doesn't grow wings), but somehow this is still fair play.

And sure, this has been allowed on the Android Play Store for years now. But it shouldn't be legal to promote your product in such an insincere way.
