Holy fuck, this was a good one; wouldn't be shocked if it's already the best thing I'll see this year. A *shockingly* vulnerable biopic which actually uses its music as actual narrative (!!!) devices and not some "best-of" playlist.

Pluribus (2025-)

A really cool premise (consequentialism vs moral ethics where the latter is a generational girlfailure) which allows for lots of room for theories/speculation. The slower editing works most of the time to really give layers to its characters + atmosphere.

Stormlight Archive: Wind and Truth (2024)

Huge fumble from Brandon Sanderson, IMO. Things start veering way too far into YA territory; it feels appropriately charming for stuff like Renarin x Rlain, but it really does a disservice to characters like Szeth and Shallan.

A smart-dumb superposition and communal pinata that dumb people smear to sound smart and that somewhat smart people smear to sound smarter. My emotions on this one still haven't cohered in either direction, so that puts me below all of them. Yay.

Absolute Martin Manhunter achieves SpiderVerse levels of visual impact with a fragmented, surreal presentation which are in lockstep with its themes, emotions, and perspectives.

Just read it. Many libraries have online services which let you read chapters 1-6 for free.
