could go the Bluesky bluecheck verification route where you can have one ATproto account that says "yeah did X is xuid Y" but that's soooo messy

i just want to make my silly Fortnite and Rock Band and CS2 labellers and have a CS2 server you can only join if we're moots...

i've been thinking of some way to "securely" make an opt-in account linking thing for bluesky e.g. mapping someone's Steam/Epic ID to bluesky for purposes of labelers or game server integrations

short of a centralised service i'm not sure how you could do this nicely on ATproto itself...

since did:web put all the "decentralised" trust into the DNS system i propose some new "decentralised" identifiers for the gaming world, as is my expertise:

did:steam - did document on community forums
did:epic - did document on the presence server
did:xbl/did:psn - did document in bio

who up webbing they did rn

kinda a bummer Bluesky doesn't support any actually Truly decentralised DID type. "decentralised identifier" my ass!
