The difference is the beards. The Taliban have natural beards made of facial hair. The MAGA folks have trophy wives as beards to cover their sexual preferences for underage boys and girls.

12.11.2025 03:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In that respect, there are similarities between Bond and Dr Who, just without the awkward 'transitions'. Each actor has re-envisioned the role, the morals, the ethics, and of course, all to the new times.
11.11.2025 13:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For me, the constant revisions and evolutions, constantly bringing very old spy novels to a modern day audience is half the fun. Each new Bond was more like a new title-holder for the position than a continuation of the same character/hero

04.11.2025 07:03 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I tend to think that even the lowest bar possible for a reliable source (without evidential corroboration) is 'sane and rational'.
I'm not easily going to be swayed from that stance.
Sure, we know that many victims of abuse go back to their abuser. Domestic violence and abuse practically relies on that. But such people also become accomplished liars to help cover the abuse. I say this as a survivor of childhood abuse myself, who made up lies to cover the shame I felt.

Don't we rely on being able to comprehend someone's actions and motives when assessing their credibility and reliability? Genuine question.

02.11.2025 22:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ultimately, with so much evidence and testimony sealed and redacted, it is very hard to know what really happened - which of course was the whole point of the sweetheart deals, the sealing agreements, and so many people in power hiding the evidence. What we do know says Guiffre is a dubious witness
02.11.2025 21:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ron Eppinger was yet another abuser and sex trafficker who hid it all under a 'modelling agency' - the exact same business model as Casablancas, Trump, Epstein and Brunel... So Guiffre, who'd been LIVING WITH Eppinger for months knew all the warning signs before Epstein/Maxwell.

02.11.2025 21:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've never got how a child supposedly abused and traumatised by being repeatedly abused, by many different men, would decide of her own volition that her life's ambition was to study how to rub oil into semi-naked men with more money and power than she had... 02.11.2025 21:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0Guiffre claimed to have been sexually abused from the age of 7 by her father and a 'family friend'. Fostercare, a runaway, and on the streets at 14. 02.11.2025 21:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There *is* evidence regarding Epstein, of course. Not least that he settled a lawsuit with her way back. But for Andrew, a man then constantly shadowed by police protection everywhere, if there's anything more than her say so, they were holding it for trial. Despite tabloids digging for a decade.
02.11.2025 21:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0On the one hand I want to "believe the victim". On the other, this is the same person that lied about a bus crash, then lied again about a terminal illness.
