I agree, two years after launching a WordPress website there's no way of knowing if something was included from the start or if it was added later by an over-enthusiastic web admin. Timestamps on the plugin files will be the last updated, so, not that helpful.

This is really useful. Lazy loading images caught on fairly quickly, not sure why it has taken so long for people to realise all these videos are a huge drain on page load times!

I think it helps keep the core lean and focused on the task at hand - content management.

After that everything is optional.

It helps developers build more focused web applications without unnecessary bulk.

With PHP it will only take the last parameter unless they're set as an array.
