Adressing the bottleneck in the Sylvaneth Project I started preparing some build plates of base toppers. Tmrw I'll have to get the basement ready for 3D printing again

Started fixing the Brute that I accidentally drentched in super glue a few months ago. Removed excess paper towel I used for soaking it up, recut and glued the weapon back on. Primed over the spots where some of the color was peeled off in the process

Played in a Lorwyn Eclipsed Draft, ultimately losing in the finals, finishing 2nd / 9. I was on GW Kithkin and played a mirror (2-1) and then BR Goblins 2x (2-0, 1-2).

All in all a really fun tournament with my 'fluffy' highlander list for a satisfying record. It feels like the reps of playing IJ really paid off in quite a few situations.
Also kinda funny, that I only lost to clubmates 😅

Bottom of Turn 2 I go for a steal of the left objective using pigs, still waiting patiently with the infantry units and screening out the backfield.

Near the end of the game, the remainders of the Orks try to pin the Skaven off the objectives and screen out the board.

Game 5 - Equinox against another Clubmate on Skaven
Went for a big play Turn 3 without -1hit, charging their screens with 5 Units to reach ROgors behind with one hammer. Failed to kill the last Plague Monks / get the Double afterwards
Maybe I have to be more patient next time, still close in the end

Deployment. They had to pull their whole right flank back to the left towards the bell.

The Big Pig takes on Stormfiends that deepstriked in the open, supported by my Mawkrusha

The Brutes charge onto the contested Objective, being able to pin the rat ogors where they dont have much impact on the game

Game 4 - Roiling Roots against Meta Skaven
They missdeployed and had to correct for the first few turns. Was able to pin on their objectives for a considerable time only slowly bleeding out
Ultimately won on Objectives, which I did not think was possible on 6 markers with their recursion & mobility

Deployment. My Wawkrusha on the bottom left is cursed to not participate in the game. The Pigs on the right side cursed to be shot off the table by cannons.

Trying a go-turn. Brutes with Crit Mortal kill 10 Tzaangors, Ragers get a big charge through the Screens into Kairos failing to cut him down, getting bonked by him in return.

The Mawkrusha is stuck in a few Tzaangors on the left, the Rest of the Tzaangors break through on the right side.

Game 3 - Lifecycle against a Clubmate on Tzeentch
60 Tzaangors backed by the Chaos Dwarf Cannons are a tough thing to crack. Played a too passively and missplaced the Mawkrusha while slowly bleeding out.
Should most likely have not given away first turn, because I overvalued the direction choice T2

My Bottom of Turn one. Buffed Brutes charge into the Blood Knights in the center, preventing their charge for the rest of the game. Ragers and Wrekkaz clean up the Barrow Guard, that Charged my Screens Top of Turn 1.

Game 2 - Creeping Corruption against Soulblight
Quite a techy game against Blood and Barrow Knights. The Recursion on this battleplan is hard for me, but I got to prevent the Blood Knights from charging for the whole game and was able to screen a good part of the battlefield effectively.

An attempt at a go turn. In the end the Brutes did not make the 7'' charge with the reroll and retreated back, so we went back to not doing anything...

The Mawkrusha reaches Avalenor and the Sentinels in the Backline, tagging them for that turn.

Game 1 - Surge of Slaughter against Alarith LRL
Sentinels were spooky with some great output (killed the gouger in covering fire), but my opponent was too hesitant, scoring too few points from their castle, while I was running away on points.

Played a 36 player GT in Hamburg, finishing 3-2 sadly for only 17th place in the end.
Was a great weekend traveling all that way with some friends. Some good club representation, with four 3-2s and one 4-1 (beating me in the last round)

Didn't post last week since I mostly prepped for my Masters Thesis Presentation today. Still did a little bit of hobby (list building/tournament prep) here and there each day.
Not counting these days since I did not post, but I'm considering this streak still going

Revived the sand texture paint and prepared the first bases for the sylvaneth. Just want a bit of texture, but I'll most likely cover it in tufts anyway.

Image from the intro game. I charged most of my army into screens with debuffs, pinning a few units where possible but leaving me open to the counterattack from the castle.

My bottom of turn one. The Pigs secure the opponents baseline objectives, Wrekkaz push into the middle. Brutes and Wrekkaz wait in the forest for their turn, maybe moving out one turn too late.

The fallout. Zoggrok takes the far left objective using a teleport,The mawkrusha countercharges Eltharion on the center, slingshotting him on my last turn to the far right objective securing the victory.

Monthly AoS gaming day at the club today. Played a 2 round introductory game against a 40k player interested in AoS.
Then had a game against one of our stronger players on thier LRL list, that ended up in a really close and dicey win for me.

Was the third person in line that didn't get a spot in the prerelease. That really sucked, but I played some digital commander with friends and prepped everything for tomorrows club AoS day

Went to a Lorwyn Eclipsed Prerelease Draft and finished 1-2. Didn't find my lane and ended up in Rakdos Goblins&Giants.
Sadly we played rarekeep in differing pod sizes and with crosspod pairings which lead to some imbalances..

Starting up #hobbystreak (day 2) again now that I’m not compulsively into a video game. Finalized the wolves with some highlights and whitened their eyes more. Bandits are up next — I had already painted the metal bits earlier. Spent some time picking new paints for them as originally I had —

Bottom of turn two. The Wrekkaz and Brutes cleaned up one of the megagargants, its friend got off a countercharge into the brutes. The Mawkrusha got to the aid of the goregruntas on the right flank killing the mankrusha. The tuskboss (not pictured, tried to clean up a unit of 3 mawkrushas ultimately failing on the left flank.

Bottom of Turn 5. Only the Mawkrusha (just having killed the last mega) and the two support heroes stand. The last small giant is pinned in the giant players hero phase by Zoggrok, such that it can only retreat to the green objective to score the last 5 points.

Last game in this club league against giants. Some swingy situations, but in the end I could control more of the board on 6 objectives, while felling one giant after another
Zoggrok is the man of the match, teleported 2x to snag objectives and not failing his crit mortals once

Made a quick marker out of a random IJ bit I had lying around, so that I have 3 for Intercept and Recover.

I feel similarly about merfolk (especially from lorwyn), which always was my favourite tribe. I really disliked the color shift to UG in XLN, but built a commander deck (temporarily Chulane) last year in anticipation of an interesting WUG merfolk commander in ECL.

Magnetised the Treelord-/Ancient hands and figured out the color scheme and process for them, experimenting a bit with some of the paints I already have lying around.

The Treelord Ancient now fully assembled, the right hand selection between Treelord and Treelord Ancient in front.

The Fanttik F2 Master rotary tool and its accessoires etc layed out on my hobby mat alongside some spare bits with holes / engravings / sanded off parts from trying around with the different bits.

Finished building the Tree lord ancient (bar the potential magnetising of the right hand). Also messed around a bit with the Rotary Tool my brothers got me for christmas on some spare bits.

Played my first game in a while against skelly SBGL. Tough matchup with recursion on spread objectives
The bigpig flank whiffed a lot and on pivotal turns my buffs didnt work
Allinall some interesting pin/activation tech between both of us, with me playing from behind on object.

A Treelord Ancient for Sylvaneth in Age of Sigmar mostly built. It is still missing the arms and the head is not attached yet.

Built most of a Treelord Ancient, this kit I actually enjoy. I'll maybe try to magnetize one hand so I can switch to the regular Treelord.
