More bulwark than marine, a walking fortress, a true son of Dorn. It's a Space Marine Intercessor figurine, very basic posture aiming over the barrel of it's bolt gun. It's a bright yellow, the colours of the Imperial Fists, with red trimmed pauldrons.
A friend of mine plays Imperial Fists and I noticed with bewilderment that I've never painted a space marine in non-Dark Angel-colours.
So I tried almost exclusively dry brushing an Imperial Fist, botched it, and now I have a son of Dorn. And lack a Dangel Intercessor.

A space marine of the Dark Angels. His left pauldron is riddled with holes and his left arm is missing at the elbow. He still fights, having his bolt pistol drawn and aiming at something off-base with grim determination.
The same marine, from the side. We can't see his damaged arm, but his bolt pistol is shown prominently, aimed at something. Maybe a tyranid that tries to scoop some fleshy marine arm out of a power armour cone.
A space marine apothecarius, heavily kitbashed. On his heavy powerfist, riddled with medical equipment like an energy scalpel, is a screen attached. Someone in his squad has an arm-related emergency as we can see on the screen. Who knows who this could be~
Still working on my librarian, so today I'm sharing something old: a marine that regrets getting too close to that tyranid. But he won't be outdonned by his colleagues with two arms and fights on. Funfact: he is the "emergency" my apothecarius reacts to on his display!

Three side by side images of the Leviathan box librarian. His armor, divided in segments, is partially blue, partially grey painted. He is shown from different POVs, the front, from behind, the side.
Most of his details are not yet painted and he is lacking highlights and shadows. But his eyes are already red.
Need some opinions.
Started my librarian with two layers of gryphcharger grey before painting some segments in MacrBlue.
Now I'm questioning if I want to keep it like that or do it fully blue, librarian-style.
Does this look like something?
No highlights/shadows yet.

Five Space Marine miniatures on a green cardboard thingy. Four of them are Intercessors: two taking aim, one reloading, one pointing at something. The last one is a Librarian in terminator armour, unleashing the powers of the warp forward... or he is reaching for the last SecretSoda in the cafeteria of the Rock.
Came back from #Wacken yesterday, was awesome. One interesting observation from a guy at #WOA: you can spend a lot of time in Germany without meeting #warhammercommunity, but there were so many #nerdlings!
Lots of #warhammer40k talks brought me in the mood, will painth these guys and girls next.

The old terminator chaplain, painted black, golden, and bone. His weapons are golden, his helmet a stark bone with red glowing eyes. A parchment between his legs is scribbled with text - maybe the names of some Fallen he is hunting, eh, searching?
Around the base are some books scattered, half sunken into the mud.

A Primaris Space Marine in the dark green of the Dark Angels. His eyes, bolter and the rim of his pauldrons are a bright red, the decor on his armor bronze.

I'm going to #Wacken tomorrow, but wanted to finish some #warhammer40k stuff. Did a Primaris and dug out my 12(?) year old chaplain. Just did touch-ups, wanted to keep the character of a mini I did so long ago and was/am so proud of. Now he has shadows and highlights!

Can't talk about IG, but I'm one of the boomer-y 30-somethings who still have Facebook and here in Germany my feed consists primarily of "game changing" shaving equip, "irresistible" men's perfume, and half naked fitness coaches who tell me that only they know how to lose weight.

A close up.of the door belonging to the tower of the Mansion of the Empire. Above the door, which is painted in the yellow and red of Talabecland, are three small coat of arm shields - two of them are bronze and heavily patina's, but the third is coloured a verdant green. Upon the green, a very simple and tine chicken is painted. It's something, I guess.
Yo. I painted a tiny chicken on top of my tower entrance, so I guess this door is now part of the Moot.

T'au pathfinder for a Kill Team. The T'au's armour is painted in a light blue, transitioning to a darker one. On his helmet, there are branches painted, with silvery blossoms. His jump suit is painted in a turquoise colour. He is standing on a stepping stone on water, the grassy shoreline right in front of him.
He is shown from the right, his heavy weapon, an ion rifle, in focus. The weapon is painted in light btownish colours, with almost yellow accents.

Shown from behind. His jump suit is better visible, along with the back of his armour, where the transition from light to dark is more obvious.
A sword kit style from the game Ghost of Tsushima, called Spider's Kiss. It's grip and sword block is brownish, the main part is blue, going from light to dark. Branches and silvery blossoms are painted on it. A turquoise cloth strap is attached to it.
All in all, these are the same colours the T'au is painted in.
After an almost month long painting hiatus, finished the third #TenBlades, a weapons expert.
Happy with the free hand branches, the transition from light to dark blue, and finally got a half-decent water effect. Hope the next T'au doesn't take a month.

Alt: The gif from Riddick, where the dude steos into the sun and just gets obliterated, because that's what Europe has become.
I had a creative painting hiatus for some weeks, but am so close to finish the T'au I'm working an. Alas, it's 33° celsius over here and I'm living right below the roof. I think I'm sizzling while sitting around and the paint is just drying on my brush.
I'm not made for this...

My normam pot of dill. It looks nice, verdant green, maybe one handlength high.
The tower of dill in the neighbouring pit. It's like the kitchen herb version of the Worldtree. Whole worlds could nestle on top of this gigantic dill, growing among my chives.
So, when I planted my kitchen herbs, seems like one dill corn got into the pot of the chives. And yo, this dill runs where others just walk. o.o

A chimera of an image: it's the gray-and-white painting of the Shinbakufu from Assassins Creed: Shadows. BUT! I edited a bunch of T'au heads on their bodies to show my ideas of my team of specialist. It's just a bunch of T'au heads from different images.
Accidentally, after two decades of hobby, I might have created my greatest artistic contribution to Warhammer with this. o.q
Why do I paint my T'au #TenBlades in different colours? Because I really dig the idea of "widely different team of specialist" that @ubisoft.com does in their games. So when I played #R6 and #ACshadows, I wanted to do my own, combined with Ghost of Tsushimas colours.

A photo showing a T'au pathfinder. His armor is a dark black, with lighter grey stripes. The sept symbol on his shoulder, taken from a Fire Warrior, is a light grey with a yellow dot on top. He is outfitted with the trappings of a drone controller, carrying the console on his back. His jumpsuit is a bright yellow, with zick-zack dotted lines crosses upon his pants.
He is shown from the front, moving towards the cam.

A screenshot of a sword kit style from the video game Ghost of Tsushima. It's the "Hunting Bear" style: the scabbard is striped with black and grey. A bright yellow tape of fabric is strung around the scabbard, with black dotted lines zick-zacking over it.
The colours of the sword scabbard and the fabric match the armour and the jumpsuit of the T'au Pathfinder!
Finished the second of my #TenBlades T'au Pathfinders, the drone controller!
Doing every member of my #killteam as a different sword style from Ghost of Tsushima. Halfway happy with this, but the stripes are somewhat quirky. Next one won't have stripes!

As a German I will forever be grateful to all who fought for the liberation of Europe.
But as a historian I am looking at front pages today and must wonder: What is the point of remembering #VEDay 80 years on, what is the point of our thanks, when we are failing to protect the sacrifices made? 🧵

Close up of a base, filled with liquid water effect, and surrounded by messy, yellow tape. It's perched upon a metal tool, held in place by an old paint pot and another metal tool, all in the hopes, that it will be somewhat level in the end.
#wipwednesday
Working for the first time in years with water effect for my T'au, using an unholy mess of tape to have it sealed at the edges, and trying a messy contraption to keep it level.
Now, just to find out, how long it has to dry...

Close up of a T'au Pathfinder. His clothes are beige, the armor a deep blue with lighter blue sprinkled in. His weapons are a bright red. Around his neck is a trimming of fur, dark red in colour. The eye of his helmet is a light green.
He is standing on two stepping stones amidst gras. He is shown from the front.

A screenshot from the game Ghost of Tsushima. It's the sword kit Tanuki's brush. A deep, dark blue, sprinkled with lighter blue and a beige binding.
The sword sheath is wrapped in dark red fur.
I want to paint each of my T'au Pathfinder in a different sword kit style from #GhostOfTsushima. The first one is Tanuki's Brush - so I added some fur around his neck. I'm not totally unhappy with it!
... tho a week later than planned.

Some T'au pathfinder models, arranged in a line, on a green cutting board. They are not painted. A drone stands nearby, hold up by some pots of paint.
An array of 25mm bases, again on a green cutting board. They have a grey texture paste on them, with some rocks inserted into the pase. One has some floorboards.
This Sunday, I will finish the first of my T'au killteam. Miniatures are just waiting for their final touchup with green stuff, bases going through some rounds of texturing... wanted to be so much faster with them, but life got in the way.
Still, for the Greater Good!
