How Trump Defunded the Higher-Education Police The U.S. Department of Education used to employ people whose job was to stop waste, fraud, and abuse. Now, almost all of their desks are empty.

The Trump administration has justified dismantling parts of the federal government under the banner of cutting β€œwaste, fraud, and abuse,” but gutting the Department of Education’s anti-fraud team is likely to have the opposite effect, Kevin Carey argues.

Sick Children Will Be Among the Victims of Trump’s Big Bill Cuts to federal health-care spending make it harder for doctors to make the oldest promise in medicine: that we will do no harm.

Supporters...say the cuts will refocus federal funds on children, pregnant women, ppl with disabilities..and seniors. HHS backtracks on pledge to disclose new vaccine advisers’ conflicts of interest RFK Jr. has pledged radical transparency, but his vaccine advisers' financial disclosures aren't public.

On June 18, HHS said it would soon release ethics and conflict-of-interest documents for new vaccine advisers appointed by RFK Jr. to the ACIP. That group's first meeting came and went.

Now, HHS appears to be backpedaling.
