Finished "Mace Windu: The Glass Abyss" by @kundalinisteve.bsky.social. It was neat to see Mace with a quasi-girlfriend, KinShan, and the final duel between him and ChuLok was stellar. The references to Yojimbo / Fistful Of Dollars were also very well done. #amreading #StarWars

Went to Salt Lake City's Greek Festival today. Enjoyed some great food, saw some excellent crafts, and had a good time in general.

Had a very restful Labor Day weekend. Got a story submitted and also did some cooking, some exercising, even a bit of cleaning. Sometimes it's nice to just take a break.

Reading #GoingPostal, in the #Pratchett #Discworld books. I've had the book forever and have read several excerpts, but somehow I'd never just sat down and read it straight through before. Remedying that this holiday weekend. It's a fantastic book!

Finished the comedy #fantasy short story I've been writing. Had fun writing this one; I definitely need to keep writing comedy in the future. I'll get it out the door this long weekend, and then swing back around to the #HighFantasy novel. Should be able to wrap that up by year's end. #amwriting

Finished reading #Snuff, from the #Pratchett #Discworld books. Now I've read all eight of the books in the 'Watch' series, and I'm glad I did--they were great.

One more #fantasy short story to wrap up by the end of August. Then I can swing back around to the #highfantasy novel. This has been a highly productive month; here's hoping I can keep the streak alive! #amwriting

Despite a troublesome cold, I managed to complete the draft of the #horror story I'm working on tonight. The next few days will be for editing, and then I'll send it out and switch back to the comic #fantasy I was doing before. #amwriting

Another great day at Quills. The keynote and the Q&A by @travisbaldree.bsky.social were excellent; I got a couple of questions answered and was happy about that.

Very good day at @leagueutahwriters.bsky.social's Quills conference. Took some great classes, got signed books from @michaelastackpole.bsky.social and @travisbaldree.bsky.social, and I got a sample request from a pitch appointment! Life is good.

Went to the @leagueutahwriters.bsky.social's Quills tradpub bootcamp. Got some great feedback from @swankmotron.com, @katherinewashere.bsky.social, and @michaelastackpole.bsky.social. Also saw Stackpole's '21 days to plan a novel' lecture, and had an enjoyable time at the reception. A good day!

Saw the original #Scarface. Exciting movie, and finishing it makes twenty classic / notable films for the year. Only 6 more to go to reach my goal!

Watching the 2012 #anime #WolfChildren. So far it's a touching and sweet story; the part where the villagers all helped Hana become a capable farmer was especially nice, and the two children are excellently characterized. Very happy with this film.
