What do you love about volunteering?
βThereβs a real feeling of comradeship with my fellow
guides and assistants. I particularly enjoy researching
the subject matter of our tours. Plus, when you get
positive feedback from tour participants, it makes it feel
really worthwhile.β

...volunteering, the more you get out of it. Being surrounded by extraordinary archaeological finds is amazing in itself, but talking to visitors from near and far, discovering their interests and imparting enthusiasm for and, hopefully, some knowledge of the Museumβs items is extremely rewarding.

Initially named the Roman Museum, it displayed artefacts discovered in archaeological digs led by Dr J.L. Kirk and Philip Corder at Malton Fort, Langton Villa, and Crambeck in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
