Firstly, yes. For people to break out of their workflow, consider the week, write an email which they think will satisfy the nebulous requirements, and then get back to work, 15 minutes. Unless maybe you half-ass yours?

Secondly, even if it were three minutes, that’s still $5,000,000/week wasted.

Let’s look at numbers for Elon’s “5 things” email.

The US govt employs ~ 3 million people.

On average, they make ~ $35.54/hr.

To send that email takes, on average, ~ 15 minutes.

So, 15m at $35.54/hr, times three million…

This initiative is wasting $26,655,000 of taxpayer money EVERY WEEK.

Have these people figured out that water is wet? You know, while they’re slowly and painfully working out the surprisingly obvious.
