Little Gull and Sanderling from Sea Palling on Saturday.
26.01.2026 22:11 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Does anyone have experience recovering images from a corrupted XQD card?
18.01.2026 17:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Besides the sublime Little Gulls (my memory cards corrupted π€’, so Iβll have to make do with these shots grabbed from the camera via my phone in the field earlier), a yomp around Waxham also produced a Tundra Bean Goose, Purple Sandpiper, and a small number of Kittiwakes moving south.
18.01.2026 17:41 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Little Gull at Waxham this morning! π Ad and 1st winter on beach. #norfolkbirding
18.01.2026 13:42 β π 22 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A super showy Great Northern Diver in the channel off the Wells-next-the-Sea lifeboat station this evening! #Norfolkbirding
17.01.2026 18:55 β π 17 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pleased to finally catch up with the Ring-necked Duck at Filby and for once it wasnβt lurking right at the back! The redhead Smew, on the other hand, was tight to the furthest reed fringeβ¦ Two Scaup still hanging about too.
10.01.2026 16:07 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Travelling down to Oxford for the ORFC, I couldnβt resist a leg stretch on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Plenty of Crossbills about, mostly heard rather than seen and I was lucky enough to spot this inquisitive Otter just downstream of the bridge!
08.01.2026 16:44 β π 23 π 1 π¬ 0 π 025 White-fronts still hanging around with the Greylags at St Benet's, giving lovely close views from the floodwall. #Norfolkbirding
04.01.2026 17:43 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This point blank Great White Egret was a nice distraction from scanning the distance ducks at Filby this morning! #Norfolkbirding #UKbirding
04.01.2026 17:33 β π 14 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Black-winged Kite & Marsh Harrier from a few evenings ago. #Norfolkbirding #Rarebirdsuk
03.01.2026 22:42 β π 29 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Following North Point we headed east to Sheringham where we enjoyed coffee, cake and in the shelter of the groynes the Eastern Black Redstart. #Norfolkbirding #UKbirding
03.01.2026 17:46 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Proper baltic conditions at times today, and I really questioned what the hell we were doing as we headed towards Wells-next-the-Sea this morning. But after recently spending time watching several Tundra Bean Geese, I couldnβt resist the North Point Taiga! #Norfolkbirding
03.01.2026 17:38 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Perseverance paid off and I managed to pick out at least two Tundra Bean Geese amongst the Pinks at Upton Marshes this afternoon. One Barnacle Goose too! #Norfolkbirding
02.01.2026 14:17 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tough viewing conditions today and absolutely freezing, but a rewarding haul out east nonetheless: Ferruginous, Scaup, Eider, 3 Tundra Bean, 2 Bewickβs Swans, 5 White-fronts, 2 Water Pipits and the Black-winged Kite.
01.01.2026 22:35 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My OH went to see the Kite this evening and sent me this...gripped π₯²
30.12.2025 16:35 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Brief but good views of the Kite again this morning. #Norfolkbirding
29.12.2025 17:41 β π 19 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Black-winged Kite returning to it's favoured trees this morning with prey item. ISO8000π #Norfolkbirding
28.12.2025 14:57 β π 20 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Excellent prolonged views of a Black-winged Kite this morning! #Norfolkbirding

27.12.2025 17:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0An early Crimbo present for Norfolk birders today with the counties second Eastern Black Redstart feeding along the seafront at Sheringham. #Norfolkbirding

22.12.2025 13:33 β π 2 π 7 π¬ 0 π 0'Twas a bit of a shock! Saw this bird looking downriver and into the light, thought it was going to be a Cormorant, then realised it was a Diver, and neither Red-throated nor Great Northern! Hardly see them now since moving away from NW Norfolk.
22.12.2025 10:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Quality day around St Benetβs and Ludham with @robertsjsmith.bsky.social and K. Nixon. Black-throated Diver, 5 Bewickβs and 31 Whooper Swan, 45 Crane, 5 Cattle Egret, 2 White-fronted Goose, 2 SEO, Barn Owl, Beardies etc
21.12.2025 15:09 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Good to see Filby Broad still topping the wildfowl charts. Consistency is everything. π
22.12.2025 09:39 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Of all the rarities and scarcities I hope to find on my regular-ish Swan/Crane/Goose circuit in the Northern Broads, I never expected to come across a Black-throated Diver on the River Thurne! #Norfolkbirding
20.12.2025 18:02 β π 55 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0A lone Jack Snipe in front of Bishopβs Hide, Cley, this morning, made the damp walk from the car park worthwhile!

02.12.2025 12:52 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1A quick post-work bash at Waxham last night in hopes of digging out a Yellow-browed Warbler β no luck there, but a nice fresh arrival of Goldcrests made up for it, along with Redwing, Song Thrush, Siskin, and a Chiffchaff.
14.10.2025 06:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Video grab of juvenile Red-footed Falcon in Great Yarmouth.
A slow but pleasant morning at Waxham with 220+ Siskin and a single Swallow north. Moved on to Gt. Yarmouth where the Red-footed Falcon was still showing nicely, then home just in time to catch a couple of Crossbill over the pad!
11.10.2025 12:37 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pleased to catch up with the Snettisham Short-toed Lark yesterday β it spent most of the evening feeding along the strandline before moving to the footpath, where it showed beautifully! Just a shame the light had gone π
