I completely agree with everything Alan says here: the game seems very cool, but I'm bummed about who Jon Blow has become over the years, and it's unfortunate that he's the face of it.

I was one of the other authors whose free games were used as a basis for this (by permission, under contract).

Read the thread for details; I agree with every word Alan has written (both the positives about the game, and the negatives about Jonathan Blow).

So, “Order of the Sinking Star” by Thekla was just announced, which takes several small free games (two of which are mine) and gives them a major graphical upgrade and mashes up their rulesets. I haven’t been very involved but it’s a great concept and looks cool.

Para lo primero la única esperanza que nos queda es que en los primeros intentos el desastre de PR sea tal que tengan que recoger cable, pero habrá que ver.

Mi opinión (como trabajador en localización, huelga decir): en AAA/megacorps el doblaje seguirá existiendo, pero las voces IA van a entrar por lo civil o lo criminal. En indies, pues un poco como ahora, se doblará a posteriori, con el juego ya lanzado, cuando loc ya no se considere un riesgo.

La progresiva desaparición del AAA se está cargando el sector del doblaje para videojuegos, y el indie no es un sector que mire el doblaje como una necesidad, sino más bien como un lujo. Los únicos que pueden cambiar esto en los próximos años es nuestra propia industria nacional que SÍ está en alza.
