Out this morning with the trainee ringing 2 broods of Stock Dove whilst monitoring Tawny Owls boxes under licence. Then a walk along the Thames enjoying Whimbrel, Barwits, Avocet, Blackwit, Oystercatcher and Redshank #essexbiding

Kicked off with a singing Willow Warbler in the garden & the 1st Swallows of the year over (3) and ended the day with a Herring Gull #essexbirding

Ingrebourne valley : 2 Cuckoo this evening on the patch #essexbirding

Still low numbers yesterday with just 5 Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff, Rt Willow Warbler, Chaffinch, Song Thrush were best. Just 1 Swallow over #ringing
